Dr. David Bartman Kemp, MD

I’ve been a patient if Dr Kemp’s since 2003. He is great! His staff is great! There is not a wait time for your appointment, he takes time and answers all your questions, and you can call nursing staff with any questions. He did two c sections and a hysterectomy and I had no problems at all!

The positives are the staff is great, very courteous and efficient. I've only had to wait in the waiting room past my appointment time twice. I have been a patient for over a year, and although happy with my results/progress, have been disappointed with Dr. Kemp. His website advertises that he goes above and beyond and spends quality time with his patients, but this has not been my experience at all. I'm lucky if he spends 30 seconds with me. He looks in my mouth and before I can even attempt to ask him a question he is off to the next patient. I am an adult patient, so maybe he is better with the kids, but I feel like he should treat all of his patients the same. I currently have no idea where I am with my treatment. All of the information I get is from the technicians working on me, who for the most part have been wonderful. It is a busy clinic and he always seems rushed. I also work in healthcare in a busy clinic, so I get what that's like, but frankly his patient care is… suffering. I am not a needy patient, have never complained about anything, kept all of my appointments, never broken any part of my braces or needed anything extra. It would be nice if he would take 2 minutes while I am there to let me know what the plan is and how he feels I'm progressing, I don't think that's unreasonable. I'm sure he turns over a lot of chairs and is making great money though. Meanwhile I have minimal information about what is going on with my orthodontic care. Unfortunately he was recommended to me by my dentist (whom I love), but if I had to do it over I would have chosen another orthodontist.

I have an actual diagnosed phobia of doctors after being molested many years by a neurologist as a child, I have to be sedated for something as routine as a physical! I actually became more okay with the idea of getting cervical cancer and dying unexplainably over going to a OBGYN for a Well Woman Checkup annually, but I came to the realization if I hope to someday have kids I'll have to at some point have to have an OBGYN. So I went through every review website there is and along with the recomendation from several friends decided to try to go to an appt with Dr Kemp. I was almost instantly taken to the back. The staff was all incredibly polite and helpful. The nurse noticed how anxious I was and I explained it to her and she talked to me for a few minutes, reassured me I was doing alright, and had Dr Kemp come in and meet with me before the actual check-up. Dr Kemp was incredibly kind, talked me through every step of the way, calmed me down when I began to panic by talking to me, and… even helped me prevent a Dr appt I had scheduled to remove and replace an implant by volunteering to take care of it there at his office the very same day. I would recommend him to anyone that needs this kind of doctor! Yes I was breathing heavy, my heartrate was going crazy, and I did cry a couple times, but Dr Kemp and his staff got me through the first doctor appt I've ever had without sedation. Excellent doesn't begin to describe the relief that I survived and had found a doctor that understood why I behave the way I do and helped me through it!

Dr Kemp helped me thru a very hard miscarriage after 3 months of pregnancy and he later delivered 3 of my children. two of these were difficult deliveries and the 3rd was no piece of cake either. He explained the difficulties thru the pregnancy. His bedside manner was second to none. He loved what he did and each delivery was like his first...he was so happy to see that newborn with the new parents. He told it plainly and was factual every step of the way...I would recommend him to any parent to be!

He performed my hysterectomy several years ago and it was a horrible experience. I had been sick the night after surgery from the pain medicine and vomited almost every hour through the night. When he came in the next morning I had not been out of bed yet which the nurse explained why. His only concern seemed to be if I had taken a shower yet, he did not take the time to listen to the nurse or me. He seemed to have a set agenda on when you did things after surgery, sending me home the next morning. I think he is rude, tells you what he thinks you should feel and doesn't really listen when you try to talk to him. I would not and have not recommened him to any one I know!

I've heard many horrible things about Dr. Kemp and was terrified when he was the dr. on duty to deliver my son. HE SAVED MY SONS LIFE! After the fact I changed my dr. to him. I have gone to him for numerouse things since and love him. He is a great dr!
