How long did he get sentenced?

The most arrogant Doctor that I ever met. I wonder what his cell mate thinks.

I cannot even give him one star. He is (or will be) in federal prison for the most unethical practices. He deserves everything he gets. While he was practicing medicine, he operated on my sister (at his fancy hospital is Forest Park) and did not even do the surgery. He billed the insurance, did an operation on her. But never did the sleeve procedure.

This man had me so fooled, he seemed so kind and really in it for right reason. He botched me so badly all so he could get more money from The hospital for more surgeries in a day. I could have lost my life due to his greed. He did not even perform the sleeve on me. Doctors can’t figure out what he did.

I could not have hoped for a better experience with Dr. Kim and his staff. Dr. Kim was present every step of the way, and genuinely cared about my health and progress. He was attentive, and never hurried. He always gave as much time as I needed. My procedure, Duodenal Switch, was successful, and without complication. Almost 4 years later, I have maintained my 111 lb. weight loss, and am thankful every day.

This doctor is in prison with many others who committed fraud. He admitted to receiving about $4.5 million in kickbacks between 2009 and 2012. He has been ordered to pay the government $2.2 million.

To begin w/ you are told you will not be seen up to Pollo Ly 2 hours before your consult!! They were right!! The day of my gastric balloon procedure Dr Kim did NOT even come to see me before I was put under anesthesia. That in itself is unprofessional. Then while I was waiting to be released from the medical center (2-3 hours!) waiting on him. He barely spoke to me or my husband. Not very personaable at all. The two times I ever got to be in his presence I always felt he had one foot out the door. 6 months later when it was time to schedule my balloon removal I was told that Dr Kim would NOT be my doctor but some other doctor who is new to the practice. Summer the patient advocate was rude when I politely asked for the new doctors license number so I could check on his creditials which I do with all my doctors. She was very vague and more rude each time I asked why Dr Kim would not be completing my procedure. Glad I searched!!! Do your research people!! Turns out that Dr Kim is under… investigation for fraud - accepting bribes that total over $4 million!! Obviously no integrity!! This is why he is not treating patients while he is trying to lawyer up to prevent the indictment charges. If I had more time I would tell you so much more as to why I was charged more and why he wouldn't accept insurance. -- all so he could continue his scam with insurance!! Do NOT go to this practice!!!! I'm convinced that any review of his that says there is little wait time is just being fabricated by people in his corner.

I think that Dr. Kim did a great job and his staff has really helped guide me through the process.
