Dr. David Edwin Kim, MD

Prior receiving my surgery from Dr. Kim, I've done research on many surgeons. Many reviews always rave about how great a surgeon's personality was yet when I review their portfolio, I felt it did not reflect that greatness and also many of these women who rave about their surgeons ended up getting poor results and/or complications. When I came across Dr. Kim's reviews, I kept reading how he had poor bedside manners and that he was basically unfriendly. Despite being a huge contrast from a lot of the reviews out there, I wasn't put off because he had a strong portfolio. So I contacted him and after that I was sold. I am not sure why women keep saying that he has poor bedside manners. A good surgeon is one that is honest and straightforward and Dr. Kim was exactly this. Upon meeting Dr. Kim, I felt he was blunt and straight to the point and I personally find that charming. You want someone that cuts to the chase and is down to do business and knows what he can offer you. Here is my… advice to others who are looking to get an elective surgery: You are better off getting someone who is blunt and forward with you about his opinions on a serious procedure that is permanent than someone who tries to sell you or promises you something that is not true. I understand a lot of women like to be wooed and seem to forget that they will be paying thousands of dollars on something that is irreversible. Dr. Kim is a busy man and doesn't have time for nonsense conversation and he is serious about the procedure you're considering and you should be too if not more so. He is not there to hold your hand to convince you that you should get the procedure. That is on you. If you're going in there unsure whether or not you should get something done, Dr. Kim is not there for that. As a matter of fact, sort things out before going in for surgery. You are not paying your surgeon to become your friend. He is your plastic surgeon. Not your boyfriend or your husband. He is there to give you the procedure you ask for and only that. If you cannot stand someone being honest with you on something serious, then save your time and once again, sort things out with yourself before you show up for a consultation. No, I am not saying that your surgeon should be cold and uncaring. That is another complaint I hear a lot about Dr. Kim. He is neither cold nor uncaring. He is just a forward man and sorry to say but he is not really there to make friends with you. He is your surgeon. Dr. Kim was always responsive to my emails and even asked me to text him any questions or concerns I have. That is what a caring doctor should do. I’m sorry if this review seems blunt but I feel like a lot people need a reality check. Look for a surgeon that is professional who can give you excellent results without the nonsense. Dr. Kim is that one for you.

Dr. Kim is brilliant! His staff is incredibly nice and hospitible. My procedure was quick, and prior to surgery the nurse was very thourough and reassuring . Post surger, Dr . Kim and staff helped recovery immensely by addressing all of my concerns and question. Dr. Kim's work is worth every penny not to mention his post-procedure care. He's a perfectionist! I've since healed with very minimal scarring. I am extremely happy with my results. Thank you Dr. Kim and Staff

He seems to be interested in performing his talent on skinny girls with little problems...... He asked me to mail him my pictures and all he said is I need a tummy tuck. Nothing else. He has not responded to me. I think he has a lot of patients and cares less if he misses on one.... So disappointed

Went for an exchange of implants and revision due to a crappy job from another surgeon. It took 3 surgeries with dr. Kim to finally get perfect boobs. I have 800 ccs and the larger you go, the more problems occur. They were slightly off and needed a small adjustment. Now they are perfect and I am happy. It was costly, stressful and involved me traveling from New Jersey all 3 times but I think he is worth it.

I would recommend going to a MD that has more experience with rhinoplasty, not someone who fixes boobs everyday. I look at my nose everyday and want to cry and avoid taking photos at all cost.

Dr. (David) Kim is by far the best plastic surgeon in Los Angeles for breast augmentations! I had my first augmentation years ago through another doctor (friend of a friend) and was never happy with the results. This past summer I searched and searched online to find "the best". Dr. Kim took the time to talk with me about exactly what I wanted. I wanted to go bigger and yet more natural and "swoopy" looking. I wanted to look like a video game or comic book character without looking like I had "anti gravity boobs". When it came down to operation day I brought in a photo for reference. I am now one month post op and my results already look exactly like I wanted in the photo! I don't know how he did it. (Perhaps he is a wizard?). Do not go the budget route when it comes to cosmetic surgery! In regards to your end results you truly do get what you pay for. I can not sing the praises of Dr. Kim's work enough!

Dr Kim is truly the best plastic surgeon in the business. His work is second to none. I recently had a reconstruction from a botched job from another doctor. I used to have this huge gap in between my breasts. The doctor that did my surgery said it could not be made better but Dr. Kim fixed me perfectly . Now I have the cleavage that I have always dreamed of having. Thanks Dr. Kim!
