Dr. David Kitahara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from The University of Maryland in College Park and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1978, followed by a year of residency in general practice dentistry at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. David Kitahara also spent six years as an associate dentist in a pediatric (children’s) dental office, received additional training and certification in Orthodontics for general practitioners in 1985, and received Biolase Laser training and certification in 2005. He has been honored as one of the top-rated dentists in the area by Washington Consumers’ Checkbook and The Guide To America’s Top Dentists.

Aside from dentistry, Dr. David Kitahara is a huge Terrapin basketball fan and lifelong Redskin fan. He also enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, photography, and travel. It is with great pride, that he will be welcoming his son, Dr. Bryan Kitahara, into the practice.
