Dr. David James Kitahara, DDS

Dr. David Kitahara resides in Laurel with his wife, Arlene, and has provided family dental care to the Laurel community since 1979. Dr. David Kitahara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from The University of Maryland in College Park and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1978, followed by a year of residency in general practice dentistry at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. David Kitahara also spent six years as an associate dentist in a pediatric (children’s) dental office, received additional training and certification in Orthodontics for general practitioners in 1985, and received Biolase Laser training and certification in 2005. He has been honored as one of the top-rated dentists in the area by Washington Consumers’ Checkbook and The Guide To America’s Top Dentists.
Dr. David Kitahara is committed to providing state-of-the-art, high quality …dentistry, by taking numerous hours of continuing education and maintaining active membership in the following professional organizations: Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of GP Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Association, and the Chinese Dental Study Club.
Aside from dentistry, Dr. David Kitahara is a huge Terrapin basketball fan and lifelong Redskin fan. He also enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, photography, and travel. It is with great pride, that he will be welcoming his son, Dr. Bryan Kitahara, into the practice.
