Summary
I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, where I did all of my formal education through my residency. I came out to San Diego to do my fellowship at UCSD, a top pulmonary training center. During my fellowship, I also earned a master of public health degree at SDSU, focusing on quality of life. I quickly fell in love with the wonderful weather after all of those harsh Montreal winters. My parents will tell you that I wanted to be a doctor ever since I was a little boy. People often ask me why I chose to become a lung doctor as opposed to any other specialty. I always thought I wanted to be a pediatrician, but being mentored by some wonderful pulmonologists during medical school changed my course. I found that lungs have a broad impact on the body, which at the same time are affected by many other organ systems, so in my practice, I get to treat the body as a whole.
