I've had two labor epidurals from Dr. Kush. This review is reflective of the 2nd treatment. The first situation went well, so I do know what a successful epidural feels like affiliated with birth, thus, why I wanted to have one with my second child. The second treatment one was absolutely unsuccessful, and I feel that since I was a cash-pay patient, there was no follow-up or responsibility affiliated with Dr. Kush's practice. Dr. Kush administered an epidural, which I believe missed the correct point of treatment. I did not feel any relief from the pain of labor, however I was unable to feel my legs from my thighs down for over 14 hours. Instead of re-treating me, when I complained of extreme labor pain, they just kept giving me more of the pain medicine through the missed epidural spot, resulting in further numbness to my legs. I was first treated with the epidural at about 9 am, but had two more rounds before I gave birth around 12:30. So 3 treatments in close to 3 hours, with no… relief. I felt every contraction, and the full effects of labor, as though I had not had the treatment. The entrance area of the epidural was very painful, and I had continued tingling and pain in my legs for several weeks after labor. I called the office, and went back in to see another Dr. from the practice. They wanted nothing to do with diagnosing me for any issues that may have been affiliated with the epidural, and wanted me to only go see a Dr. at an ER. To top it off, no one from the office followed up with me, except to try to collect another payment for the botched epidural, which had already been paid-in-full. I had paid for, and had payment records that I had to submit, because no one in the office bothered to track my payment. They truly had no record of my credit card payment, and pushed for another payment, stating I didn't know what I was talking about, that I had paid someone else or the hospital. When I showed my proof of payment, there were no apologies for the inconvenience, or complete lack of professionalism. I truly believe that since I did not use insurance, that the level of responsibility and service was extremely poor.
