Dr. David C. Kwee

Warning!! This may be a long post! I have four children with two aging out. My 21 year old daughter had been going to Dr. wee since she was a toddler! On her last visit, he had to break the news that she couldn't see him anymore and her heart was broken! My youngest two love him dearly as well! I moved from Durham to a town about 25 mins away and I still haven't changed their Provider! Not one wrong diagnosis and Dr. Kwee helps the children feel comfortable as well as the adults. If he left or retired, so would we.

Dr. Kwee was very thorough to give a diagnose to my child. He was quirky but was willing to sit down with us and walked us through different possibilities. We really appreciated his patience, relaxing attitude and thoroughness in diagnoses.

Dr. Kwee has provided outstanding care to my son (four months old), and both my husband and myself would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician. Overall, the clinic (UNC Pediatrics at Southpoint) is excellent: friendly nurses and front-desk staff, minimal wait times for appointments, appointments begin at or shortly after the scheduled times, and (in our limited experience) the other doctors are also reasonably good. With respect to Dr. Kwee specifically, he is extremely thorough in explaining potential causes of my son’s symptoms as well as the corresponding expected outcomes (and he is usually willing to give a rough indication of how likely each cause/outcome is). I find the comprehensiveness of this approach to be greatly reassuring, as it gives us a clear idea of what to expect and also allows us to understand his reasoning behind recommending (or not recommending) treatment. Dr. Kwee is also clearly knowledgeable in his line of work: he seems to dedicate a… substantial amount of time to keeping up with recent developments/publications in medical research, which enables him to provide an impressive amount of detail regarding treatment options. Finally, Dr. Kwee has displayed an unusual amount of patience towards us. Our son has had some health concerns as a result of being premature, and on top of that we (well, especially me) are very anxious first-time parents. As a result, we brought our son in constantly the first month he left the NICU and also had multiple questions for Dr. Kwee both in person and via the MyChart. Dr. Kwee continued to answer our questions thoroughly and patiently, and did not act in any belittling way even when (in hindsight) some of the problems were not that serious. The only very minor criticism I have is that Dr. Kwee talks quite quickly and often with several idioms/cultural references, so personally I find it takes some effort to keep up. (My husband has no problem, though, so maybe it’s just me.)

Ridiculous, My daughter had a fever and cough, and I taught him my dauhter passed the infection to me and my wife, he said it is allergy, and gave us a prescript which cost us more than $100 after insurance, and absolutely, the medicine did not work at all
