Dr. David Kwon

Dr Kwon may be a good surgeon, but he obviously rapidly cherry picks his patients and looks for those whom he can quickly book surgeries. I traveled from San Diego to Cleveland Clinic for consult regarding carcinoid tumors that may have metastasized to liver and transformed into hematological malignancy. I brought a stack of medical records and imaging. He refused to look at the records, and when I tried to show him the diagnostic worksheet signed by an NIH researcher and expert on my conditions, he poo-pooed the doctor and the diagnoses even though the researcher was renowned and Kwon knew nothing about carcinoids or EDS. I spent a couple of thousand to get out there, and Kwon kept me locked in a patient room for 2 hours while I could hear him badgering his nurse to get rid of me. Eventually he said my multiple organ bleed outs must be from something I was eating, even though I have been hospitalized four times for bleeding out of multiple organs simultaneously and have had 16… neuroendocrine hormones elevate dangerously. My heart, spleen and liver and pancreas are enlarged. He told me to get out and exercise more. I used to swim a mile daily and did gymnastics in college. He said I didn’t seem to be an athlete. Well, after forty years of fighting 60 diagnoses, and my right hip is fracturing from myeloma, I no longer can exercise. He spent less than ten minutes and picked at me like a bully. I reported him to Cleveland Clinic ombudsman department and they did nothing. They continue to support doctors on their staff who obviously cherry pick and only give five minute doc in the box consults rife with bullying when the patient’s case is complicated and not suitable for a laparoscopic surgery.
