Dr. David Andrew Larson, MD

Brain and Spinal Tumors; Pediatric Cancer; Radiation Oncology Dr. David A. Larson is director of the CyberKnife Radiosurgey Program and co-director of the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Program at UCSF Medical Center. He is recognized internationally for his expertise in radiosurgery, particularly in the treatment of primary tumors of the central nervous system, brain metastases and medial temporal lobe epilepsy. Larson, who is certified by the American Board of Radiology, is active in a number of scientific societies including the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society, American Physical Society, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society and American Association of Physicists in Medicine. He earned a doctorate in high-energy physics from the University of Chicago and a medical degree from the University of Miami. After completing an internship at UCSF and a residency at Harvard, he joined the staff at UCSF Medical Center.
