Dr. David George Lemon, MD

I right this review wih tremendous positive feelings towards Dr. Lemon. We have a son that is thirteen and very healthy thanks to Dr. Lemon. He had a 10% chance of survival. All the staff was great, professional and very courteous, he always remembered my child and his health issues. I thank him and all the team at UNM .

Dr. Lemon placed our son's infus-a-port in Oct. '10, when he was dx'd with leukemia. The surgery went great and my son was able to have blood draws and infusions through that port for 2 1/2 years. The catheter finally broke and we had Dr. Lemon place the second port just 2 weeks ago. We are very happy with him and the services he has provided. He has always been courteous, direct and professional. Granted, he may not have a sunny disposition and flamboyant personality, but I would take skill and competency over good bedside manner any day of the week. As for wait times, we have been going to the specialty clinic at UNM-H for 3 years and unfortunately, some days there are long wait times. That is just the nature of the beast when dealing with the healthcare community.

My son was born with gastroschsis . Thank god to Dr. Lemon my son survived and is a strong healthy seven year old! :-)

After two appointments (waiting time was 3 hours each) to see this doctor, when we finally did see him, he wasn't familiar with our chart, our child or her medical history, despite having seen her in the hospital as in inpatient twice before. The procedure he recommended was not what other surgeons from more reputable institutions had suggested. We ended up traveling from Albuquerque to the east coast for the surgery. We simply didn't trust that he had our child's best interests at heart - he couldn't even be bothered to read her chart!

Although he had seen our child on numerous other occasions, inpatient and otherwise, he never knew anything about her when he walked in for visits and ...

We almost made the mistake of using Dr. Lemon as our surgeon. We should have know from his terrible bedside manner, 2+ hour wait times, not remember our case and other red flags. But when we found out how many children are dead from his surgeries we found another surgeon. Please do the same for your children if you love them.
