If I could give Zero Stars, I would. I trusted him! Even more because he also was in charge of teaching other doctors. He misdiagnosed my child as Autistic at 20 months of age when ultimately she had Primary Universal Craniosynostosis. In reviewing her otherwise normal MRI (no atrophy etc.) although he commented on decreased CSF (which was a clue) he never investigated why. (The why was her CSF was being displaced by her brain as every day it became more and more damaged by its own growth) Chromosomal Testing presented to him was completely normal too. (Her head had palpable ridges across all sutures with a Ridge on her Metopic Suture being completely visible just looking at her face - another clue he should've caught) He should have ordered a CT Scan (or even an Xray) which would've allowed for proper diagnosis but instead he made assumptions. I brought her back at age 5 yrs when she appeared to have Diabetes Insipidus, he failed to recognize the brain damage signs occurring right in… front of his eyes as he dismissively doubled down on Autism and saying I had trouble accepting an untreatable condition. (BTW- head trauma and conditions that cause brain swelling can cause Diabetes Insipidus - no, she did not have any exterior head trauma but her brain growth was being restricted by her skull) Finally she was correctly diagnosed at age 7 years (at Johns Hopkins) after suffering years of severe increased intracranial pressure and was near death. She was in constant pain but unable to communicate that because the condition robbed her of the ability to talk. The Craniotomy saved her life as by then she had almost no blood supply to her brain and no CSF circulating around her brain. Had she had the Craniotomy by the age of 2, 3, 4 or even by 5 years of age, she would be relatively normal today. She continues to improve after her life saving craniotomy 20 years ago but a brain cannot ever fully recover from 5 years of increased intracranial pressure. She will need a caregiver for the rest of her life due to irreparable cognitive developmental damage. I wouldn't let him take care of any life form including a plant.

No bedside manner at all,. What planet is he from?? Would not recommend to anyone, Go to Boston.

There are only great things to say about Dr. Mandelbaum. My son is 10 and he loves going to the doctors now. The doctor even makes balloon puppets for my son and is very knowledgeable about his diagnosis. My son is finally in the right hands.

Terrible doctor. Talked about his grandchildren but never even touched my child. Total lack of concern about increase in seizures. No EEG done - but continued the anti- convulsant. I switched to another neuro who sees us every 3 - 4 weeks. Mandlebaum was 3- 4 months. Do NOT trust your child to him.

Didn't believe in what my child had. Wouldn't send ANYONE to him!!!!!!! After waiting 4 1/2 hours he didn't even se us for more than 10 minutes

He is loud, disrespectful and rushed. I would not even send my enemy to him. Seems like he makes a diagnosis out of a hat like a magician
