Dr. David Alan Marks, MD

Tested positive for covid in Aug and have shortness of breath and chest pain 4 months later from it. PCP referred me to this Dr. and first it took a month to get an appointment. Finally got in to take a breathing test and was supposed to get results a week later. Was scheduled for a televisit and waited an hr on the phone for a visit and he never showed up. Called the office and it was he had an emergency. But noone could tell me that. Then rescheduled for an office visit on Nov 12. Got a call the day before saying he won't be there in the morning because he has guard duty and to call back for afternoon televisit. Called and noone answered nor called back when I left a message. I called today to get my results now saying we can get you in Dec 1st. This is totally ridiculous and unacceptable. If you want a Dr to see you when you are suffering from after affects of covid, please look elsewhere or you will die waiting to be seen. I wouldn't have selected this dr if it wasn't for my… PCP. UPDATE: The rude girl from the office called me and said I called to tell you your appt for Dec is being canceled because of your review. I asked her is everything she did acceptable? She never once apologized and said sorry for the inconvenience or anything, she was just plain rude like another commenter said. I filed a grievance with the insurance company. This dr should think about hiring decent people in his office who know what they are doing and have empathy for their patients who are suffering from covid. Reviews are to warn others or compliment a business, I am definitely going to write as many reviews as I can, including my neighborhood app because people who are sick and suffering need to know they can get a dr who is reliable when they really need them. Talk about a Dr with no ethics. Instead of helping people suffering from covid after effects they just cancel you. Seems like it must be a common thing from the previous post.

I was referred to Dr. Marks by my primary physician. I was sent new patient paperwork that included the declaration that patients must leave a credit card on file. I called and the person who answered the phone explained that was the policy. I have 3 types of medical insurance and didn’t want to give them a credit card to keep on file. The woman said they will never charge your card without calling me first. She said my only other option was to pay in full upfront. I explained that I could try to find another doctor. She said, “okay I’m cancelling your appointment” and Hung up. I called back the next day and talked to the office manager. She rescheduled my appointments and apologized. She also told me that they wouldn’t call before charging to my credit card. Today, a week after talking to the office manager my primary doctor’s ofc called to tell me they put in a new referral because Dr. Marks called and said they can’t see me. I called back and talked to Dr. Marks’ office manager who… said that she cancelled the appointments because she’d talked to her staff and I was in fact rude. She then accused me of being rude to her. I just hung up because it was obvious to me no amount of conversation was going to cause this staff to be professional! I am shocked and appalled that anyone who’s supposed to be professional would act the way they did!

Referred by our family doctor for asthma and later for sleep study. Very impressive.

In one of the scariest times of my life, Dr. Marks and his team were there for me. After getting the news that I needed to see a Specialist, I was so nervous and just wanted to know everything- about - everything. The receptionist listened to my situation (with empathy) and was like, “let’s work you in tomorrow… I will ask Dr. Marks to move some things.” Seriously?? What Dr.’s office does that? Um.. NONE except them. Once I spent some time with Dr. Marks, I knew that I chose the right doctor. He explained everything in lamens terms, showed me the scans and used them to paint of picture of my situation. He is kind and really cares about his patients. I was having some touchy moments during this time and he even gave me a direct line just in case I experienced those symptoms again after office hours. He has a sense of ownership with his patients and that, in this world, is rare. AWESOME JOB Team Marks. You all are my Unicorns ?

Dr. Marks takes time to go over your clinical findings and discuss with you any questions or concerns. Very thorough. Great office staff, nice office and location is very good. I have not had more than a five minute wait time. A very well run office.

My family doctor referred me to Dr. David Marks. He and his staff are excellent in every way. His technician Elizabeth gave me the most intensively accurate pulmonary function test. She was so very kind and understanding. Dr. Marks is incredibly well-informed. He ordered tests that besides poor breathing, I also have minor heart issues, a hiatal hernia, and an esophagus that barely works. Here is the miracle. His treatment has improved my pulmonary function from 50% to 80% in a few months. I feel that he has saved my life. I wouldn't hesitate to refer any patient to go to him. HORRIBLE! Calling the office staff is horrible! They never answer the phone. Messages left and no return phone call, and they communicate they will return your phone call within 24 hours, which does not happen. I have called them repeatedly. I called to leave a message to cancel my appointment because I could not get my paperwork transferred from my previous doctor because of their inattentiveness in communication, and then 4 hours later I receive a phone call confirming my appointment. They are a joke. You will sleep better if you do not have to deal with trying to communicate with them...

Dr. Marks treated my mom as part of the ICU team at North Central Baptist Hospital. An overly cautious doctor may have delayed the removal of the breathing machine tube failing to mitigate damage to my momâ??s vocal chords and throat. Dr. Marks carefully monitored the efficacy of the breathing machine preserving quality of life. An excellent communicator, one very candid respiratory therapist gave him high praise.

Dr Marks is an excellent doctor. I was very ill. My rheumatoid arthritis attacked my lungs and became very inflammed. He treated me in the hospital and outpatient for several months this year. I was on oxygen, steroids, nebulizer treatments at home. I was unable to work for months and he helped me with my FMLA. I have made a full recovery now and am back to work and enjoying everyday living thanks to him and his staff. He even took the time to explain my case, treatment with my husband and gave him support and advice. I thank God for giving me a great physician!

Dr. Marks is an extremely bright, professional physician with excellent training and with a close link to the One Great Healer. Having spent 48 years in the medical profession, and having had many experiences with Dr.s, I can honestly say Dr. Marks is as good as it gets!!! I love him!
