Dr. David Colin Metz, MD

Brilliant, thorough, caring, and made me smile though I was very anxious about the diagnosis which brought me to him. He knew even the most trivial points in my medical history. I’m lucky to be one of his patients

My husband has been Dr Metz's patient for over 10 years, and in that time we've really grown to appreciate his expertise and knowledge. While other reviews remark about his 'abruptness' and 'lack of compassion,' I completely disagree. He gets right to the point when we see him, which I appreciate, and he 'tells it like it is.' My husband's condition is rare, and we know that he's in touch with other people in the field to discuss treatment protocols, when surgery may be required, and so on. If you want someone to hold your hand while you go through treatment, bring a friend with you. If you want your doctor to be an expert in his/her field, up to date with current practices and someone who's willing to consult with other physicians, see Dr. Metz.

Dr. Metz is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. He is irritable, rushed, edgy, dismissive, and simply not compassionate. He overlooked a critical part of my clinical work-up which is frankly inexcusable. I would have tolerated his horrible personality if he were a competent pratitioner.

He does not listen to you nor does he answer your questions. He seemed annoyed when i tried to ask questions. He made me feel very uncomfortable. He thumbs through your records so fast that there is no possible way he could of read them. He did run blood test but no one called me back to go over them.

Dr. Metz is of the opinion that his is the only one that counts. He fancies himself to be suave and continental. He does not disclose his relationships with companies whose drugs he prescribes. He also disregards protocols for drug therapy. He turned me into a lab rat to prove that medical therapy is superior to surgical therapy; all to my detriment. He repeatedly scared me about the risks of surgery. After being on his haphazard regimens for several years, and him ignoring the side effects I was experiencing (and tried to tell him about); he said "I don't know what you have..." In my opinion, he is a very poor excuse for a physician and needs to be monitored.
