Dr. David Paul Michelin, MD

Today was my first meeting with Dr. Michelin and after seeing all the bad reports, I was pleased my encounter was so kind and caring. He truly was amazing and supportive. He explained everything and straight forward. So thankful he's my doctor. I like caring honest doctors. I feel safe and secure.

I felt he was clear and down to earth not to mention gave me hope. His np patty davis is awesome also

Dr. Michelin was referred to me by my gynecologist for a Robotic Hysterectomy. I found him very professional, direct, intelligent, and compassionate. He knows and understands his skills and experience. He laid out all the known facts of the possible outcomes both good and bad to help me make informed decisions. His staff was very helpful and caring.

Dr. Michelin was kind, respectful, informative and gentle. I appreciated his personal follow up call 2 days after my surgery.

I was referred to Dr. Michelin after an ER visit for abdominal pain. I read reviews before the first visit and was prepared for a poor bedside manner, I was not prepared to be bullied into agreeing for treatment plan. The consent form I reviewed as I was prepped and ready for surgery was the first time I saw I was also agreeing to install a port, if deemed necessary by Dr. Michelin, for chemo. I did not have a diagnosis yet. With my husband and children confused, and some crying, Dr. Michelin bluntly stated "if you don't agree to chemo I'm not going to do the surgery". I didn't even have a diagnosis yet. I reluctantly agreed, and luckily he did not install one. One the first follow up visit, still with no diagnosis (pathology reports were not conclusive), Dr. Michelin stated "if you are not going to do chemo, I will not treat you, you can find another Dr." I stated I was reluctant to agree to a treatment plan before we have a diagnosis, and asked for a PET scan. Dr. Michelin's… reply was "a PET scan is not going to tell me anything I don't already know." I did start some chemo, with wicked side effects, some permanent. I also asked my family Dr to schedule a PET scan and got several additional opinions including Mayo and the Cleveland Clinic. Based on the additional opinions I stopped chemo. 3 years later I'm doing well, except for the side effects of the chemo.

This dr is the rudest dr ever. Treats his patients terrible. I just watched a video on his recent lawsuit and I’m really surprised he won because he did the exact same thing to a family member of mine and she ended up dying because of what he did to her very similar to what he did to the lady in his recent lawsuit and his assistant that checked on her. I would never go to this dr.

I would rather be writing a review for one of Traverse Citys great restaurants, abnormal and potentially malignant medical findings are scary. All of that being said, I found Dr. Michelin to be very direct, competent and confident AND personable ( in a low key way ). As I started this review, you won't be looking for a gynecologic oncologist on TripAdvisor but if you find yourself on that journey, Dr. Michelin is skilled and professional.

Michelin did robotic hysterectomy in jan 2018..perforated bowel x2..was in hospital for 18 days with MY and drain tubes had open abdominal wound for 4 months and now a 3rd surgery since he he hacked me up..lost my business of 30 years and can't do my job of 21 years all from michelin cutting me. I have surgery coming up to have more repairs..1000s of dollars to doctors and supplies for wound and travel..yet he has no responsibility..he told the referring doctor everything went great..my gyno never knew everything that went wrong until I had to see him for something else...this man has truly ruined my quality of life

Is very patient, didn't rush my appointment, followed up afer my surgery at home by phone. Surgery went great.

I found Dr.Michelan to be very personable, professional, and meticulous about my care. I'm 40 years old and came to him with cervical cancer. He preformed a radical hysterectomy on me with DA Vinci robot. I was never scared or nervous at any appointments, biopsies, or actual surgery. His air of confidence, knowledge, capability, and experience had me completely at ease. My family that met with him were also very impressed and happy with how he handled everything. My surgery went smooth and today I am cancer free. Thank you Dr. Michelan. You've had a positive impact on a lot of people from my experience alone. I can only imagine the love and gratefulness you've gained from others. May god continue to bless you!
