Dr. David Miklos, MD

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Miklos. My son contracted ALL two weeks before his 21st birthday and spend most of 2011 and the first 2 months of 2012 in and near Stanford. It was a battle like no other and at one point when we reached out for help in despair, Dr. Miklos called us late at night to calm our fears and answer our questions effectively, honest.y, and with compassion. My son had a fully ablative (spelling?) BMT and never had to look back. Although Dr. Miklos cannot, nor can any doctor, control much of what happens during and after a BMT, he (they) can respond wisely, rapidly, and effectively to problems that arise. My son was incredibly lucky to have such a competent and compassion team fighting for his life at Stanford, beginning with Dr. Miklos.

Dr. Miklos has been caring for my husband for over 3 years. Surprised by previous comment because he is very concerned about my husband getting GVH and the complications from it. In fact having visited MD Anderson and the Hutch it was clear that his approach is much more conservative, he believes you can get GVL without GVH. He is very accessible by email, phone and office visits. He is notoriously late but he will spend anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour or more if needed. Great bedside manner, in fact one evening my husband was ill and I called the emergency number, he actually called me at 1:30 in the morning to see how he was doing. His staff also are very helpful and accessible. My husband and I feel that he treats him like a person not just a trial participant!

Just wanted someone for his study once his patient suffered deathly consequences he was no where to be found to help. Also did not make clear the effects of horrendous GVHD when signing papers.
