Dr. David Emmanuel Olson, MD

Dr. Olson, the Doctor for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, became my doctor when I was the Director of Athletics at the University. Since my retirement in 2012 I have had back surgery, prostrate cancer, some skin cancer issues and am scheduled to have both hips replaced. Without the assistance, care and support of Dr. Olson I would not have as easily had the correct diagnosis and assistance in finding the best specialists to assist me. Dr. always finds time for me even with his schedule with the athletic teams he serves, the practice he has and the family he loves and cares for. I made an appointment due some stiffness and soreness I was experiencing in my shoulder. Dr. Olson and his staff were attentive, good listeners, and very knowledgeable on the best course of action. I would definitely recommend Dr. Olson. I was very happy with my treatment.

Dr David Olson consulted and was able to help provide solutions to a chronic issue. He took the time listen and walk me the steps to provide the necessary relief I was looking for. He is definitely a patient first Doctor.

I was able to see Dr. Olson on short notice for an issue with my left shoulder. After an initial consultation we both agreed that a cortisone shot would be the best course of action. I have seen Dr. Olson for many items from tennis elbow, stitches and psoriasis. He is well versed and well connected to other specialists. The visits were thorough without taking too much time. He always gave me options and did a little extra leg work to make my mind at ease.

Waited 15 minutes past my appointment time in the lobby for the crew to come back from lunch. Waited another 15 minutes for the actual doctor to show up. Waited another 15 minutes for the staff to find an elbow brace, which was unsuccessful, and was then sent home with a print-out to purchase a brace on amazon.

I'm so thankful I landed in Dr. Olson and his assistant Chris's hands! I had seen a few other orthopedics and just didn't feel like I was getting the answers I needed. They really took the time to listen to me and try and troubleshoot what was going on. While there isn't a quick fix option or a solution, they've been excellent at providing options to try and are very detailed in explaining what it would consist of. They've always worked in appointments for me and I"m always met with a smile. I'm very grateful for all their help and highly recommend them! You can tell they love their jobs and patients and it shows!
