Dr. David Joshua Orringer, DO

Arrived nearly 30 minutes late after lunch. Made incorrect statements regarding VA policy on unexplained Gulf War illness; when corrected, claimed I was "too argumentative" and he was "not going to do this" and stormed off and reported me as 'no show.' I was suffering from extreme fatigue, fever and congestion in my lungs. I was concerned I had valley fever. I went to Concentra Urgent Care on Monday at 8:10. After an hour-and-a-half wait, I saw doctor oringer. When I explained my symptoms to him, he said I would not have valley fever unless I had been exposed to rat turds. He explained that you get valley fever from rat turds. He was mistaken as this is where you get hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. I have lived in Tucson all my life, and I know you get valley fever from spores in the dirt and I had been working in the dirt the day before. He gave me a medication to take for 5 days and told me to return if I did not feel better. He diagnosed me with pneumonia. After 5 days, I did not feel better, so I can went to Concentra and I was the first patient there at 8 in the morning. I was told there be another 1/2 hour wait and the doctor had not shown up for work yet. As I waited in the lobby, he showed up 10 minutes late. After my one and… a half hour wait, he then told me he was not surprised that I did not feel better. He said the medication I took takes over a week to help pneumonia, and then I should really go back and see my primary care doctor. It would have been nice if he'd give me this information on the first visit, instead of me having to pay two co-pays. My primary care doctor confirmed i had pneumonia and that you do not get Valley Fever from rat turds. Dr. Orringer needs to improve his communicarion skills and brush up on his medical advice.

Dr. Orringer is intelligent and caring. He does a great job explaining the medical information. Velo Med Urgent Care is a great facility.
