Dr. David Ostransky, DO

I was referred to Dr. Ostransky by my GI Dr. when he spotted nodules on my lungs from a CT scan of the abdomen. Dr. O ordered a CT scan of the lungs & made appt for 2 weeks. When I returned, I saw Dr. O’s PA, She told me I had something called Bronchiectasis, mucus in the lungs. Also, several 5cm nodules in the lungs that needed to be monitored for growth. She explained that I would need to use a nebulizer twice a day. Any questions? I was in a little daze over the nodules - didn’t know what to ask. The PA left, the Dr’s assistant came in and said she would send a prescription to my pharmacy for Albuterol & a nebulizer. I asked “how do you use a neb?” She said instructions would come with it. 3 days later-called pharmacy, nothing. Called Dr’s assistant, left a detailed message. 2 days later - nothing. This time, left message for PA. 4 days - same. Called assistant again. Long story short - 3 weeks later, prescription was never sent. I’ve called 4 times, left detailed messages,… NOTHING! I’m sure Dr. Ostransky is a competent physician, however, I would NEVER recommend him due to his staff. They have no respect for the patient! They are totally irresponsible, non professional, no compassion. I feel scammed! I paid for services that were never received.

I was a patient of Dr. Ostransky on and off for several years. My last experience with him was very disappointing. I presumed that a pulmonologist would be able to help my severe asthma. He prescribed a new inhaler which did not help. He prescribed a nebulizer, which helped minimally, but with alarming side effects. Then I was told that there was nothing more he could do for me. This was unacceoptable! I did find an allergist and asthma specialist who has been EXTREMELY helpful, and I am making excellent progress with his asthma regimen plan. I never felt that Dr. Ostransky was interested in helping me. He is a pleasant gentleman, and his staff is very nice. However, I always felt that the doctor never cared, so I was forced to find a doctor who was willing to help.

I have been seeing Dr Ostransky for about two decades and have always been impressed by his quality of care and the kindness of his office staff. He has helped me over the years in several minor problems I had and would highly recommend him to anyone. Dr John Quincy

First and foremost, in order to write a review, I have to give this man at least one star. IMO that's one star too many. My wife has been tired for at least 5 years, often sleeping 15+ hours/day & never feeling well rested. The effects of this are so far reaching & detrimental it is beyond words, & we turned to 0stransky for help. Our insurance company paid for an in-clinic sleep study & at the follow up appointment we were told there is nothing wrong & essentially brushed off. How can this be? We asked. And what do we do now? No answer. We were given paperwork & sent on our way. Upon reading the paperwork, we discovered that my wife only went into stages 1 & 2 of sleep. There are 5 stages of sleep, with REM being the 5th & most important- THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM! The study was done at an odd time, a time of day when my wife does not normally sleep- this was an obvious concern, but we were told 3x that this has no bearing whatsoever on the sleep study. 0stransky insists the study is… valid since my wife slept for 300 minutes at the clinic - but how could a medical professional say that there is no problem with never sleeping beyond stage 2?. We have since learned that timing is not just important but essential. In addition, I have witnessed my wife having nightmares- this is significant because dreaming only happens in REM sleep, which 0stransky insists my wife does not experience. The only way to find a solution is to have a credible MD perform a sleep study but, obviously, our insurance isn't going to pay for a 2nd one. 0stransky burned my wife's one opportunity to find a solution. So why am I writing this? Because we have lost 3 children to miscarriage & lack of sleep causes a significant decrease in human growth hormone. We cannot prove anything, but the connection is too great to ignore.
