Dr. David Parker
Founder and President of Parker Dental Associates
Dr. David E. Parker is a 1971 graduate of Howard University College of Dentistry, where he received several awards for outstanding achievement in clinical restorative crown and bridge. He was elected to the Honorary Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon in March of 1971.
Dr. Parker's passion is cosmetic dentistry and in his pursuit of excellence has studied extensively in the past four years in Houston, TX and San Francisco, CA with PAC-live, The Hornbrook Group and master ceramist, Smile Designs by Rego.
Dr. Parker served two years active duty with the United States Air Force. After an honorable discharge, Dr. Parker did a post-graduate residency in anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Parker has studied with some of the world's foremost leaders in the field of Aesthetic and …Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Parker has lived and practiced Dentistry in Smithtown since 1975.
Dr. Parker is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Society, the American Society of Forensic Sciences, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the Suffolk Society of Forensic Dentistry. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at Howard University College of Dentistry and SUNY Stony Brook, and has served as a member of the Professional Liability Committee of the 10th District and the Suffolk County Dental Society.
Dr. Parker is dedicated to Community Service. He served as a member of the Smithtown Central School District Board of Education from 1983 - 1989, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce, and North Suffolk Mental Health. He was an instructor-trainer-BLS with the American Heart Association.
Dr. Parker is a member of Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT), which is part of FEMA and as such was actively involved in the first response to the TWA Flight 800 Disaster in July 1996 and, World Trade Center Terror Attacks of 9/11. Recently, Dr. Parker, along with other volunteers and staff from all over the country helped with the tedious task of identifying the many victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Dr. Parker, and other dental experts, armed with computers, in one of the many mortuary trailers, spent tireless hours matching dental x-ray images of the dead with images from past dental records.
