Dr. David Charles Perlman, MD

He did an extremely inappropriate physical examination where he lifted my shirt without asking to listen to my heart, front and back, then had me lie back and lifted my shirt to expose my stomach without my consent, and then proceeded to lift up my leggings to feel for "pelvic lymph nodes" when that was not even an area of concern or complaint - he was touching my underwear. I told him to stop. I will never go back.

If you are a Medicaid patient avoid this doctor at all costs. He is not empathetic or willing to go the extra mile for you even if you show symptoms of infection and are in emotional distress due to how awful you feel on a daily basis. Many doctors treat Medicaid patients differently and delay examinations that they obviously need bc they don't want to do the "extra paperwork" or 4000 papers as he said and in the meantime, our condition worsens. Unfortunately, there are a lot of us students on Medicaid at the moment and it's sad that an educated person, or anyone for that matter, could be treated with such disregard. Nothing special here unless you have great health insurance, then maybe he'll do the "paperwork" for you and save your life. The health care system in this country is truly a disgrace; the profession isn't as respectable as it used to be. I can see why doctors come across so many lawsuits now, their lack of concern and delay in treatment is atrocious. His office staff… (receptionist/nurses) is great though. Very polite/well mannered unlike many others I've come across as a Medicaid patient. A good and passionate doctor cares about all of his patients poor, middle class or rich and getting to the root of their health issues. Bc of this doctor and many others, Medicaid has had to pay a pretty penny for my emergency room visits and I won't be getting off Medicaid anytime soon bc I'm too sick to work and go to school now. Id love to say I'm happy about that but that is not the case.....

Despite the longish waiting time, everything was perfect. He took the time to listen, was non-judgemental, and explained things in such a way that I understood perfectly. Amazing doctor.
