Dr. David Mc Donald Pierce, MD

I visited walk in on March 31st due to an immediate issue. I saw my dr. whom is Dr. Pierce and He took wonderful care of me! He and Valdosta Family Medicine are always the best in patient care! A big Thank you!! Alesia Dorminey??

Over the years I have come to have a great deal of confidence and respect for this doctor and everyone at the clinic.

My Brother has been a patient of Dr. Pierce for awhile. Recently my Brother became disabled and is currently in assisted living. I am his Power of Attorney (POA). Noticing that my Brother visited Dr. Pierce's office twice during the month of February, after forwarding my POA, I called to seek information as to why he visited. I was called back by Joy, apparently Dr. Pierce's nurse. Although nice she was extremely uniformed about specifics of my Brother visits. I then called back and left a message to speak to Dr. Pierce who in turned informed Joy to call me, knowing I'm several hours from Valdosta, and said he would only speak to me if I came with my Brother to his office. My only concern is my Brother well being. Dr. Pierce's refusal to even provide me the professional courtesy to speak to me shows to me, his lacks medical concern for my Brother's well being as well as being rude. Noticing his overall rating, it may be apparent other have a similar opinion. Although I have not… personally received services from this office, I have no other option but to check that I have received services in order to submit this review.

Being a college student, when I realized something was seriously wrong with me I didn't want to go to the student health center for them to just give me antibiotics and send me out the door, or travel all the way home to see a doctor. I read reviews online and saw the best rated, Dr. Pierce. Even the nurses when I scheduled the appointment commented on how much he cared about his patients. However, when I had my appointment with him about my chronic back pain, associated with wrist pain/swelling and fingers going numb, he did not care about knowing who I was at all, and rushed my entire visit so fast I forgot to bring up a handful of things. It lasted maybe 3 minutes. This doctor made me get a $600 nerve conduction study, which also took forever to schedule (like his appointments). Then at the appointment where he was supposed to go over the results he was rushing me again as usual and basically told me he didn't know and wanted to refer me to an orthopedic surgeon. Out of frustration… and exhaustion I busted into tears unable to speak, and Dr. Pierce literally just sat there with a straight face. Does that sound like he cares for his patients?? He then left the room, and I had to tell the nurse who came in to discharge me to make him come back, because I was not even done talking to him. It has been about 3 months and $1000 since I originally came to them for help, and they still know nothing. Don't waste your time and money going to his office like I did.

Dr David Pierce is a fine physician. He was friendly but not too forward, he listened attentively and spent his time with me effectively without rushing me. As a doctor, I would recommend him. I could not, however, recommend Valdosta Family Medicine (where he practices) due to certain office policies as well as the attitudes of certain staff members. For example, it is the policy of the office not to make same-day appointments (under any circumstances, I was told). I imagine that would be a problem for many people, particularly those with children, or anyone with an urgent situation. Furthermore, the staff seemed quite bothered by my call to request a refill of a certain medication and the "Well ... I'll give them the message, but ... I don't know" response that I got suggested that refills were quite inconvenient for them. After two business days, I had to go to the office in person and be quite forceful to get the required refill.
