David Bruce Purow, MD

After 6 yrs with a GI Specialist who inaccurately diagnosed me and ignored my constant question as to severe nasal drip and wanted procedures done yrly, I researched and found Dr. Purow with excellent credentials and reviews. After procedures he found me to be healthy and to see him in 5 years. He said I have Silent Reflux, to avoid caffeine, tomato sauce and already my nasal drip has lessened. He takes time to listen! I trust him and his staff is competent and caring. I have already recommended him to three friends. Do your homework. Dr. Purow is excellent! Thank you

This would have been a top rating, had it not been for a front office staff that is barely civil. The staff appears to resent even responding to patients who are coming in for appointments and seem to consider the patients to be an inconvenience. They simply hand out forms with no dialogue, whatsoever and and a lack of engagement that is only a shade less than hostile. The aide who took me back to the Exam Room was warm and quite clearly more engaged. Unfortunately, is workers outside are the gatekeepers, which is whom the incoming patients first have contact and set the tone for the office. Dr. Purow, himself, is warm, informative and knowledgable and, as stated earlier, would have merited a top rating, had it not been for the sour staff he has in the front office.

STRAIGHT FORWARD VERY KIND AND KNOWS HIS STUFF

While their medical reputation is fine, this office has a reputation throughout this area and with referring Doctors of be very casual when setting appointments and then getting people in on time or even close to their scheduled time. As an example I had an appointment at 6PM, to insure I was on time I left work early and arrived at 5:35. After filling out the multiple forms and sitting in an almost empty waiting room, I was finally called into the exam room at 6:30, where I was told to undress and wait for the Doctor. At 7:15 (after almost 2 hours since I arrived and 45 minutes after getting into the exam room and undressing with no updates from the staff) I decided that enough was enough and got dressed and left the exam room. When I told a staff person I was leaving all I got was, â??sorry it is just one of those things.... â?? unfortunately thatâ??s the way it is every time at this office. They did not even have the courtesy to advise that there would be a wait, just once someone… could have said, it was going to be one and a half hours or more, instead they just let you sit and wonder and miss your valuable family time. So no complaints on the medical side but be prepared to sit and wait and not be communicated with, your time is just not that important.... advice to this practice, hire a management consultant to help you manage appointments and customer communication and service. You are very lucky to have a business/practice that has little competition in the area, if it was any other type of business you would be out of business.

Dr Purow is the BEST doctor I have ever seen. He helped to save my sister's life.
