Dr. David Randell, DO

DR Randell was my first dr after moving from Corpu Christi many years ago.He in my book along with Dr Varghese had both saved my life.Dr Randell more then anybody.He listens to his patients,has compassion which is rare for a dr.Im so so thankful that Abilene can still have a doctor such as he is.Thank you doc and happy early bday.

Dr. Randell deserves a zero. I hold him partially accountable for my husband’s death at age 46. My husband was seeing a wonderful psychiatrist in Dallas, but Randell kept trying to put my husband on different meds. He was seeing a pain specialist in Dallas as well, but Randell kept interfering with that doctor’s work as well. I asked him to not interfere with the other doctors’ processes. My husband definitely didn’t need the opioids that Randell prescribed so freely. He just needed Randell to take care of blood pressure meds and basic care when he was under the weather. We quickly got a threatening letter in the mail stating that we were no longer welcome at his practice. My husband’s autopsy stated he died of long term opioid use just a few months after we were fired from his practice. He did the same thing to my sister years earlier when she wanted to know other options for her medical care. His EGO is larger than he is. He can’t be questioned. He just can’t take it.… Look at the man. When we went to him 7 years ago, he was obese with sickly dark circles under his eyes. It’s like following a preacher who cusses and cheats. Don’t trust him!

I have never actually paid someone to be rude and indifferent to me until this place. I should have walked out when first filling out my paperwork when a walk in come up to the window and the girl behind the desk berated him. I had a 9 am appt, I was brought the the exam room at 9:30 and proceeded to wait 45 minutes while the person who did my so called physical chatted about baseball with a pharmaceutical rep. Just as I was gathering my things in she breezes like she's so busy and proceeds to probe me about how fatigued I must feel. Which I don't!! Got my blood work done & today I get a call that I need to make an appointment to come in and discuss my lab results. Told them to mail it, they refuse, asked what is the issue, they refuse to tell me. Since I have no medical complaints no doubt they just want to charge for an office visit. Now in order to get my results I have to use up my lunch time and go sign a form in person because they won't email it to me and more than likely tell… me to come back another time to pick it up!! Some service!!! Avoid these crooks!!!!

I love Dr. Randell but his office staff could use an upgrade and maybe wear a smile more often.

Dr. Randall is probably one of the more caring doctors in abilene. Been with him for over 15 years. Running a business is tough i understand the ins cost and paperwork but as nice of a beside manner as he has erica his receptionist seems like a bitter person to have for an up front first contact person. Not sure if Dr Randall realizes how she comes across to people. Shes perfect for DMV job but not the same thing when dealing with sick patients shes never shown any empathy to me or other patienrs ive heard complain about her. Thinking about changing doctors all togeather cause thats whos standing between my doctor and me an ornwry receptionist who seems to really dislike dealing with people. Sorry but you really need to know about your staff Dr Randall. Its oposite of anyone whos ever worked for you. Im afraid its got me thinking about changing doctors

I had Dr. Randell as my family physician for 12 years before I moved away from Abilene. I have just moved back and immediately chose him to be my primary care physician! Excellent doctor!!

Dr Randall is a brilliant man and very loyal to his patients. He has taken very good care of me for years. He always explains everything in detail and has a heart of gold. I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

The front end girl was rude. If it wasn't for Dr. Randall I wouldn't have been back and I wouldn't have referred two new patients to him.

I recently contacted Dr. Randell's practice to see if they were accepting new patients. I made it clear that I am on Medicare and Plan F supplement. Clerk said they would send a questionnaire to complete and then decide if the doctor would accept me. Received a call today from an office operator coldly informing me that Dr Randell said I would "not be a good fit" for his practice. Did not bother to inform me what they considered was a "good fit". Well, what is a good fit? Was it the Medicare? Probably but, they knew that up front. I spent my time answering his questions and Dr. Randell did not even have the common decency to call me himself and perhaps answer mine. Shows a real defect in professional behavior. Glad I learned that before I placed my life in his hands.
