Dr. David Rothbart, MD

Met Dr. Rothbart and his team for the first time yesterday. It was a great experience. I liked the intake (thanks to Sharon) and the fact that the doctor was fully prepared before he entered the exam room. His diagnosis and explanation of alternatives for treatment were clear and conservative. My wife and I know I am in good hands—literally.

Dr Rothbart was straightforward with his diagnosis. He made sure I was well taken care of. I had three discs fused and it wasn’t an easy surgery but Dr Rothbart was amazing. I highly recommend Dr Rothbart.

Dr. Rothbart saw me on short notice and performed surgery the next day. He did a remarkable job.

I had surgery with this doctor to correct spinal stenosis and ended up with zero improvement. As if this wasn’t bad enough, I now have another issue that is tied to his lack of surgery skill- bowel obstruction. He washed his hands of it all and was disgustingly arrogant. Clearly doesn’t take his vows to “first, do no harm” seriously. Find another doctor.

Dr. Rothbart did a total fusion on my Cervical spine. My outcome is excellent from having terrible pain every day to zero pain. Amazing doctor and surgeon.

This doctor spent two minutes with me and came across as flippant and uncaring. No explanation of my condition or ideas on possibilities for my neck pain relief. Much too busy to worry about me as he clearly had more important things to do.

The staff at Spine Team Texas is very friendly and professional. I saw Dr. Zhang and Dr. Rothbart and I love them both. They are very knowledgeable and explained by condition so well. I appreciate all the time they have spent with me. I find Dr. Rothbart to be very caring and I am so surprised by the negative comments I read. I trust him completely and I'm thankful he will be doing my surgery.

This doctor has no compassion for human beings. He walks in, gives his thoughts, leaves no place for questions because he is the one in control, and then walks out while you sit there looking speechless.

Excellent doctor. So precise and got straight to the point. I appreciated his knowledge and have great faith in his care.

I rarely write reviews, but in this case ... I believe that he may be a brilliant surgeon, but his God complex negates any credibility in that area for me. I went in to get a ROF from an MRI and he began to flippantly let me know what was going to happen - that they would start cutting in the front and then "flip me over" to cut on the backside to insert the screws and rod. When I dared to look surprised, he said to me, "Well what did you expect - to come in here thinking this was some simple operation?" Well doctor, I had NO idea that this is what the MRI would show, since I am not a neurosurgeon. That should have been enough for me, but I let him send me for a CT scan. This time, I came back with my husband, and although he was more palatable with the extra testosterone in the room (unbelievably, this advice to bring my husband back with me came from someone on his staff), he was still rude and condescending. When my husband gently asked, "For lack of a better visual, do… you make a 'pilot' hole before actually implanting the screws, to make sure they're in the right spot?" - Dr. Rothbart gave him a deadpan look and said, "What, are you a carpenter or something?" And on and on it went. We left, knowing this man would not lay one hand on me. And promptly found the most wonderful surgeon - polar opposite of Rothbart - in every way. I could list the 7 distinct differences here, but I've already written a novel. I think you can get the idea that this man needs to come down from his self-perceived lofty position, and actually begin to at least "act like" he cares for his prospective clients.
