Dr. David George Rutz, MD

After my breast cancer chemo I went to my previous doctor (Eileen Rock) for a physical and she said "can't my oncologist do it" ?? and I said since the chemo I have knee pain and she said "that orthopedic is big business"?? So I researched doctors somewhat close to me. David Rutz had great reviews regarding bedside manner and such. I made an appointment (insisting on seeing Dr. Rutz and not a PA for my first visit, which they had no problem with). I completed my paperwork beforehand and on my first visit he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. He was spot on, I could not understand why I wasn't feeling better after the chemo. At a later time we addressed my knee pain as I had many issues at this point. He took x-rays, tried an arthritis doctor (shot in the knee with no help) and anything he could do to see what was going on. (Medicare will not pay for MRI). Finally figured out that years back I had a skiing accident in which I tore things around the knee and so when I had the chemo… and lost 30lbs. and was weak the muscle and scar tissue became a problem. Anyway, Dr. Rutz is awesome, he explains things in a way that I understand, he knows what he is talking about. He is not stuffy or speaks in a technical manner, very down to earth, love it! He absolutely does not try to push drugs, in fact just the opposite. I am the one pushing for the pain medication to ease my pain so that I can at least function. People need to take responsibility for themselves and their health and quit blaming everyone else. You need to build a report with your doctor and communicate what it is you want and or need from your doctor. If you don't ask or question then what do you expect? No one can read what a person is thinking or wants. Just in defense to some of the negative remarks I read which can be over stated. For example, (Dr. Rock, had gone to her for years, thought she was great as long as I just had the flu or something minor, but beyond that she proved me wrong more then once. A remark was made about ease of appointment, I always set up a time before I leave to see him as my issues are extensive. I have no problem seeing the PA for minor issues like the flu or what not. I highly recommend him to anyone especially because of his knowledge, bedside manner and time spent with me which is the most important to me anyway. As far as wait time once your there, me personally have had no issue, but things do happen out of his control, such as life. Hey, get cancer, talk about waiting...zzzzzzz and waiting..zzzzz, ya know all the test and this that and the other and hours of sitting while chemo is administered. I have seen a lot of different specialist since the breast cancer and all I can say is Dr. Rutz is a fantastic doctor and well worth a try. Hey, if you don't like him, get another doctor, how bad can it be. ;-)

Fins and read the Department of Health and Human Services review for this Doctor; he has charged with over prescribing medications for children. I was a patient and the only reason I stayed was his PA's and now they are gone. His office staff is rude and they ALWAYS has new nurses. KEEP LOOKING!

I have been a patient of Dr Rutz's for a few years now. I have been very please with him as far ash how he listens to you and does not balk at your ailments when you share with him. He is a very caring and concerned doctor and really wants to help the patients get better.My sister has been a patient of his for about two years now. He has helped her tremendously by recommending new procedures she can have done or by making recommendations as far as her medication. He is such a caring and patient doctor. He also spends more time with you instead of the usual fifteen minutes most doctors spend with you. I would highly recommend Dr Rutz to anyone. His bedside manner is so very caring and concerned.

Dr. Rutz always professional, very generous with his time, extremely knowledgeable, listens to what I have to say. His staff has always been very courteous and professional to me. As far as I am concerned I have the best Physician in Lincoln. Hands down.

His staff is deplorable! Completely unaccommodating and rude as far as scheduling goes. I saw him and he said to come back in 2 weeks. His staff refused to schedule me. I got worse - a compressed disk. His staff still would not schedule me. They finally scheduled me with a PA, the day of the appointment they called and cancelled the appointment and scheduled me 6 weeks out despite that it's a bad disk. I get to my appointment 15 minutes late and because they have some 10 minute policy, they cancel my appointment and schedule me 3 weeks from the day and don't even ask if that works for my schedule. Mind you I waited 45 minutes to see him. These people do not seem to be in the family doctor business at all but a mill.

Would not recommend Dr Rutzs. I have never seen him not even in the halls. There seems to be something fishy about the Dr. Office is closed from 12 pm to 1 pm. I was not aware of this and went to pick up samples. I had to wait 35 min to get them. The receptionist saw me several times and knew what I was there for. She never came to the window to just hand me the samples. They have a very basic set up. The patent I am taking there is special needs and the nurses act scarred of her. They are not interested in drawing her blood and have asked me to take elsewhere for blood draws. Staff does not appear to have much experience. I just get the feeling that there is something that is not right with this office. Also there is rarely anyone waiting in the office for a appointment.

I felt that Dr. Rutz took the time with me, although he is very busy, to sit down and explain the medical situation. The waiting time was short and I don't expect that because emergencies can happen with M.D.'s. I felt he was very professional and personable. He gave me encouragement with my diagnosis. In fact,he was very positive stating I was functioning well for those with this condition. He was articulate and frank. I definitely will recommend him to other friends and family.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rutz for several years! I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2007. I could not have made it through this nightmare without him and his awesome staff! He takes time with me and listens to what is going on with my symptoms. I would highly recomend thiis office and all its staff to anybody want wanting quaility care!!

They r really bad about turning there phones on after the lunch hour. there lunch hour is 12-1 the office is closed during this time. It is 2:00 and the phones r still off. this is very frustrating! The Dr and the PA's r excellent love the care and time they give u! I think the office staff needs to be held accountable.

My experiences with Dr. Rutz and his P.A.'s has been great.Always willilng to spend extra time with me if necessary unlike doctors I have had that walk in pretty much say hello and shove you out the door. I am blessed to find a doctor such as Dr. Rutz.He is very educated in my issues
