Dr. David Herrmann Sarne, MD

Thank God for leading me to Dr. Sarne. He is an excellent doctor and he listens. When I told him I was very sensitive to medication, he started me on a low dose (even though my numbers were very low), rather than simply disregarding what I said. He's no nonsense and knows what he's doing. He knew to keep me on the medication I was taking rather than quickly taking me off, although I had improved quite a bit. He also closely monitored my condition and knew when to adjust my dose. Dr. Sarne was quick to do all necessary testing and was very careful and thorough with his decision-making. I was suffering so much with my thyroid and am now close to remission, in a short time, thanks to his genius. Highly recommend!

My experience with Dr. Sarne has been wonderful. I was told by another highly recommended dr that my only choice was to immediately remove my thyroid and not even consider radiation. While I agreed that I didn't want radiation, I also wanted to make sure I did everything possible before removing the thyroid. The first thing Dr. Sarne did was collect all of my tests and sit down to explain the results of all tests (not just taking one result into consideration). He explained that my options were to radiate the thyroid or remove it. When I stated I didn't want either, he said I could try medication but that only 50% of patients have success with the meds. He was very open to my desire to use the meds before the other options. At this time, I am in remission and he is watching me very closely. He does a complete exam every time I see him and is always open to questions. He also takes time to see how my outside life is going, remember on one visit that my father had… recently passed and asked how I was doing. I feel he listens and open to my concerns. At no time in the last year and a half have I felt rushed by him or any of his staff.

I like him because I thin he is a good doctor to treat diabetes. However, if you need individual personal care that deviates from his pre planned out care -- he falls apart, and will turn your advice and maybe you a grasping at straws for a cure, he will discount every thing you say -- it is ins't by the book. He is not open to new treatment that is off the radar for FDA approval, Stubbornly resisting efforts to learn about some alternative medicine going around the city that may have some validity, and safer than some diabetes drugs, that the FDA does approve,. Overall I like him a lot, but wish he would treat his patients with more respect -- sometimes we do research too, and may try to raise his awareness to other bodies of evidence for during diabetic problems with healthier medications, which would be great if he would step out of his little Ivory Tower and look into them - rather than putting them and therefor the patient down for even bringing them to his awareness, If he is… the kind of doctor you want -- very conservative only uses conventional drugs, he's you man. If you need someone to be more open minded and look into some naturepathic approaches, than he probably will be a brick wall for you.

My experience with this Dr. was very disappointing. I found him to be arrogant and condescending. He focused strictly on lab results which he reluctantly disclosed only in vague terms (normal, low, high). He busied himself with computer details rather than listening. My recommendation: Don't waste your time and energy on Dr. Sarne.

I found Dr. Sarne to be extremely test oriented. Even when the physical symptoms of my illness were blatant and easily observed, he dismissed them and talked down to me as if everything were all in my head and I was a person of no intelligence. I never kept my next appointment with him and wouldn't dream of ever going back to him.

My experience with this doctor was shockingly bad! No exam, no questions, appeared to be "unable" to hear me when I spoke to him, made several groundless assumptions... Would not take his prescription on a bet! Will never deal with this person again unless he abjectly apologizes for his behavior.Pick a different doctor!

Dr. Sarne was caring and professional with my problem and ooncerns, great doctor, my sister came in from Wisconsin to see him also.
