Dr. David William Schab, MD

Dr. Schabb was the most attentive of the two psychiatrists I saw for my depression. He immediately recognized how hard things were for me. He checked on me after I had hip surgery.

Kind and thoughtful. He's more into psychotherapy than meds. Or at least he's pretty conservative with meds. I came to him after my prior psychiatrist didn't really step up to the plate when I was in a bad place. Schab was on top of it. I would see him more often if I could afford him.

Thoughtful. I was afraid of seeing a psychiatrist, I was afraid of medication, and he has been a very re-assuring presence.

You deal with his issues, not yours , raises his voice when during therapy you go in a direction he finds unpleasant. Really, stay away from is guy I wish I had .

I wasn't just a number. He spent an hour and a half with me figuring out why I was so anxious. My previous doctor spent 15 minutes. Of course, that guy was also much more affordable.

I travelled for years from Bushwick to see Dr. Schaab. He's helped me stick out my struggles in relationships. We ended treatment after I got married but I keep trying to send my friends to see him.

Dr. Schab was a breath of fresh air. He took a look at the six medications my previous psychiatrist put me on, determined that several of them were not doing anything, and got me down to two. I subsequently felt better and lost 18 pounds. He has a new angle on many of my thoughts. He got us into couples therapy with his colleague and now my marriage is better. I work in finance. If he could see me in the early morning, I would like to see him more often.

Really helped me understand my problems and treatment, but sometimes tricky to schedule with. He's a really good egg, i wish I could find a doctor like this in atlanta

He seemed a bit casual about taking his time to make my diagnosis but then he put all the pieces together in a way that no other shrinks had. I've been to a lot! It was a really soothing to have someone listen and make sense of everything I said. Too bad for me that Blue Cross doesn't pay for out-of-network.
