If I could give this zero stars I would. Never in my life have I seen such a rude doctor! He was extremely rude during the whole 2 minutes I saw him and seemed to only care about getting paid. I was the victim in a car accident 10 months prior and have been getting treatment and waiting for this day to finally have surgery on my hand. The receptionist said that a family member was allowed to come so my older niece came with me. Upon his entering he rudely said "Whose this?" as if he disn't want her there and did not comment when we said the woman at the desk said it was ok. He asked my why I was there I I told him I was there for hand surgery because I was in a car accident I had been in back in December. So he asked me how I felt and what happened and he didn't want to hear about previous doctors I had been to. I started to say what the previous dr had said was wrong and he was annoyed and cut me off by saying he didn't want to hear what they thought. So I started to explain how the… accident happened. After two sentences he interrupted and asked if I had hired a lawyer. I told him I had consulted one but had not yet hired him because I was thinking about it because I in reality didn't want to. He flat out told me "I can't treat you." I asked him why and he told me "Because I won't get paid." Won't get paid?! I was baffled. He explained that he "couldn't" because thats how the system works." He repeatedly mentioned it was because he would not get paid. Saying that by getting a lawyer it would take him 1-2 years to maybe get anything after it went to court and there was a settlement. I could not believe him! He skimmed the medical papers pretending to read them and never one looked at the xrays. The moment he said he wouldn't treat me he took the disk out of the computer drive. I was in tears and asked him what I was suppoed to do after everything that had happene. That I have been in constant pain for 10 months now! He didn't look up; just said "Huh? Its been that long?" in a tone that showed he didn't care at all. I asked him what if I didn't gat a lawyer? I just want my hand fixed! He looked at me and said "I know you're going to get a lawyer so I'm not going to treat you." I wouldn't get a lawyer if he had done the surgery. I don't know how many times he said it was because he wouldn't get paid! He even told me he had just did surgery on a man and wasn't going to get paid because the man had been sent to him from a different country. None of that had anything to do with me. I told him had his receptionist told me when I made the appointment on the phone that he would not see me because of a possible lawyer I never would have made the appoinment two weeks prior. As he opened the door of the exam room he said "Well the door's not closed." I walked out of the office crying the whole time and explained to my sister what had happened. I heard him talking to the girl at the desk and she was telling him about how she had asked me if I had a lawyer but hadn't gotten one. At that point I left. I and my sister each lost half a day at work to deal with this! I DO NOT recommend this "doctor" to anyone! He is the rudest doctor I have ever seen and doesn't care about anything except the money that comes with the job. I will not be taking up his discourteous offer to come back.

He was an Accurate excellent experienced dr and look forward to working with him again

He told me I was too fat and wasn't a surgery candidate. Two weeks later my disc blew and I am left with the rare condition of CES. He was the meanest rudest man I have ever had to deal with.

I have several chronic back issues. He initially was very attentive but I he started to get annoyed with my visits (I had referred pain to the hip) and gave me all my xray and MRI CDs saying he couldn't be bothered with storing them (there were 4 CDs). Unfortunately a few months later I had a very scary incident and was left on the floor afraid to move. I called the office to let them know what happened and to get advice as to what I should do. I spoke with a young receptionist who said, "if you are afraid to move, call an ambulance." I asked to speak to Dr. Schiff but was told he was gone for the day. I asked to speak to the Dr. on call and their was not one. Never did his office call back and ask if I was OK. Never have I returned to his office.

Didn't even get past the receptionist. Who has ever heard in this day and time of a Dr.'s office not taking an HSA credit card. Rediculous! Cash or check is what they say, i pay good money into a flexable spending acct. so i don't have to pay cash, would not reccommend this Dr. unless you have cash on hand to use for surgery. The Dr. I am sure is good as he did my moms knee but I think this is a big factor in seeing this guy! Staff was not friendly either.

I would never recommend this Spine-less of a physician or his practice to anyone. I have been in the Healthcare industry for many years and was appalled at the treatment received not only from the staff but him as well. In attempting to express my concerns, and the concerns of my daughter who may need surgery; he rudely chuckled, humped his shoulder and walked away. I contacted the Physician who referred him to our family and she was very apologetic and admitted that this was not the first time, and suggested that maybe he was just having a bad day. Needless to say, the experience was not pleasant. As healthcare providers regardless of our differences no one should never be the recipient of blatant disregard for mankind. Compassionless, Spine-less and definitely not Christ-Like! Being in the Healthcare Industry I will share this treatment of behavior with other Orthopedics in this and other neighboring areas.

This doctor needs to listen. Pain is real not imagined. I have been seeing Dr Schiff for about six months for a spinal fracture that is not getting better, I will seek another physician who actually cares and listens.Wait time is astrological! Unfriendly staff!

Dr. Schiff was a referral to me...and WOW...what a great guy along with doctor! He performed back surgery on me, and I couldn't be happier with his work. His assistants are AWESOME ladies, and he is very fortunate to have them working for him! P.S. Dr. Schiff is actually a FUNNY guy once you get to know him....he can relax and be a lil comedian when prompted! VERY professional!!

He is the most kind, thoughtful, professional Dr I have EVER had. He takes time and explains all he is doing,and his bedside manners are outstanding!He cares about his patiences and his staff is equally as professional and caring!
