Dr. David Shafer is a long time resident of the Benicia-Vallejo area.  He attended St. Patrick’s High School in Vallejo prior to undergraduate studies at the University of California at Davis as a Biochemistry major.  In 1985 he received his D.D.S. degree from the University of California at San Francisco.  While there he was awarded a fellowship in Gerontology by the Medical Anthropology Department.  After dental school graduation, Dr Shafer completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in San Diego.
In 1986 Dr. Shafer returned to Benicia as an associate dentist with Carquinez Dental Group.  In 2008 he was selected for inclusion in the Bay Area’s Top Dentists listing by Bay Area Consumers’ Checkbook. More recently the Doctors Improving Healthcare organization chose Dr. Shafer to receive the “2010 Bay Area Top Doctors & Dentists Award” for his achievements in general dentistry.
He and his wife …Charlene are raising two daughters.  The family enjoys snow skiing and boarding, boating, and many youth sports.  On Fall Saturday mornings you may occasionally see Dr. Shafer refereeing a youth soccer match at Community Park.  Dr Shafer is proud to work, volunteer, and raise his family in our city of Benicia.

Dr. Houston was raised in Petaluma, CA and earned a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from U.C. Davis. He lived in Manhattan for four years and attended New York University where he graduated with his D.D.S. degree in 2004. He returned to the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco while completing his postgraduate specialty residency in Prosthodontics at U.C.S.F., graduating as the Chief Resident in 2007.
Dr. Houston is a member of the Napa Solano Dental Society (NSDS), California Dental Association (CDA), American Dental Association (ADA), and American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). He attends many continuing education meetings throughout the year and has lectured internationally on Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Houston joined Carquinez Dental Group in October 2007. He enjoys cars, motorcycles, exercising, running, snowboarding, golf, and spending time with his daughter, Sienna, and son, Logan.
Dr. Sukhmani Singh

Dr. Singh obtained her DDS at the University of Southern California in 2004, after which she completed a one year general practice residency at the Los Angeles County and the Los Angeles Ambulatory VA facility.  She has worked in private practice in Beverly Hills and Simi Valley for one year prior to coming to the Bay Area for her Prosthodontics residency.
She completed her Postgraduate Prosthodontic training at the University of California at San Francisco, where she graduated as the chief resident. 
Dr. Singh was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she attended the University of Toronto for her undergraduate studies. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2000, and has been in the Bay area since 2006.
Dr. Singh enjoys cooking, reading, arts and crafts such as knitting and jewelry making, working out, and traveling.
