David Sherrard, DDS FAGD
Dr. David Sherrard was born and raised in Illinois with two sisters in a dental family. Dr. Sherrard often helped his father with dental lab work in the home basement lab. It was while working beside his father that the importance of saving a patient’s natural teeth and building a practice on trust, one patient at a time, from referrals within the community, was instilled. Dr. Sherrard is a third generation dentist in his family.
Dr. Sherrard graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1980 with a Bachelors of Science in Business. After graduation, he worked for John Deere Industrial Equipment Company for ten years in a variety of assignments, including instructional …system design, providing vocational-technical training and serving as a field representative in Ohio and West Virginia.
In 1990, at the urging of his own dentist in Ohio, Dr. David Sherrard made a life-transforming decision. He changed careers and began pursuing dentistry as a third-generation dentist. He graduated in 1995 from Ohio State University with a DDS degree. From the beginning, his dentistry has been health based and involved getting clients out of the "emergency cycle of care" they had fallen into.
Dr. David Sherrard has always adhered to the comprehensive training begun in dental school – enhancing it through affiliation with both the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne Florida and the Kois Center in Seattle where he will soon complete the postgraduate curriculum. In March 2011, Dr. Sherrard was granted fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Dr. Sherrard received a private pilot’s license in 2005 and enjoys travel, golfing, hiking, skiing, construction and woodworking as well as home renovation having restored a 1921 vintage house. He is currently managed by two Boston Terriers.
Amy , Registered Dental Hygienist
A graduate of the University of Montana in 2000 with a degree in psychology, Amy also played NCAA Division 1 college soccer as a goalkeeper. In 2003, she earned her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. As a dental hygienist, Amy loves helping patients and encouraging them in both dental health and overall body health. Amy lives in Seattle and is an avid collector of dwarf conifers; she enjoys landscaping, exercising, and hiking with her two dogs. Amy has been with our practice since 2007.
