Dr. David E Shirazi, DDS

My teenage daughter (16 years old) has a fairly severe recessed jaw. She had braces originally to straighten her teeth but we were told the only way to fix her jaw and bring it forward would be to do surgery and break it. Yikes! My daughter also has been suffering with chronic headaches, teeth grinding and attention issues for a very long time and after having a consultation with Dr. Shirazi we realized that these could all be linked to her jaw alignment and compressed airways! We found out that our insurance doesn’t cover the treatment but we felt it was worth every penny if we could help even half of her issues. Our teen was fitted for a specialty oral “appliance” - basically a retainer that she wears at night only. After the 2nd day she woke up and said, “Wow! Is this how everyone else feels like when they wake up?” She felt so rested! Her jaw quickly began to move forward and as it did, her headaches eased up, her mood lifted and she was extremely happy because she had been… embarrassed of her jaw sitting back too far so her self confidence started to rise. This treatment is gentle and incredibly effective! Dr. Shirazi is so good with her and she thinks he’s a crack up and enjoys her check-ins. We are so impressed and so grateful for finding Dr. Shirazi! (AND SUPER grateful we didn’t let the orthodontist talk us into breaking her jaw!!!) We refer everyone we know to him now and they’ve all had excellent experiences!

I’ve been a patient of Dr Shirazi for a few years. I started my care with him due to severe TMJ pain. Since seeing him I have had so much relief of my TMJ pain. No 2 patients are the same and he knows this. The treatment plan I choose to go with was the longer route, which for me has been great. He’s taken care of me through every step and every new mouth appliance. I’m in the home stretch of the treatment plan and I can honestly say it’s been life changing for me. I no longer curl up in pain after a regular day of activity. I live my life active and pain free thanks to the catered treatment I’ve received. Plus, the staff there is great.

I started with terrible nightly headaches. After treatment I have not had a headache for weeks. Well worth the cost.

We see Dr Shirazi as an ALF practicioner for my son's teeth. We are having amazing results with the treatment! Dr Shirazi is always patient and kind and takes the time to thoroughly explain what he is doing and what to expect next. The techs who work there are always sweet to our son, too. Dr Shirazi was very knowledgeable and helpful in reducing the frequency of my migraines. Having been on Imitrex for years and needing to take 800mg of Ibuprofen at the onset of my headaches or I'd start throwing up, I was glad to have found Dr Shirazi. My migraines have reduced from having 3-4 a month to about one or two every 3 months. In the past I would get really debilitating migraines most of which were right before my menstrual cycle and now i don't have those awful nauseating migraines nearly as frequently. I do want to mention to those patients who might be thinking of starting treatment to be aware that the appliances made, at least in my case, needed to be worn daily and that a chiropractor, don't ask me why, makes a huge difference. Dr Gerardo, a chiropractor referred by Dr Shirazi, is just amazing. Shamefully admitting to be more on lazy side, I found out the hard way. I can definitely notice a difference when I am wearing my mouth appliances versus when I'm not. I wish I… could outgrow my migraines without needing to wear mouth appliances, but if subpar medication, Botox injections or surgery are my only other options, I'll take wearing the appliances any day

Great in the beginning when you pay cash upfront but then doesn't seem to care whether or not you actually get better. All the tests done at the beginning were not repeated when I was discharged with little improvement.
