Dr. David Sikes, MD

Absolute worst doctor ever. I was seen by other doctors and in the hospital and came with test results in hand, and a referral list of further tests needing to be done. He flat out refused further testing and accused me of googling my own symptoms - basically saying I'm making it all up. He accused me of my timeline of events being different than what I verbally said and what my evidence in hand provided, which was well documented in person with dated test results from other doctors/hospitals as well as a doctors personal phone referral. Tell me, how does one make up test results from their blood, urinalysis, ekg and chest x-ray? I wasn't aware I was an x-men with the ability to alter my own genetic material and body using my mind. This guy was a complete sham and total jerk the entire appointment. When I asked what to do about my pain he said "nothing". He has NO answers and can only accuse patients. What kind of a doctor is this?! Such a disgrace. A formal complaint has been filed… with the Florida Medical Board. Oh, and I waited over an hour to see him for about 8 minutes max, and most of that time he was being accusatory and wouldn't even listen to me or review any tests brought.

I was referred to Dr. Sikes shortly after the very traumatic death of my husband. He listened to EVERYTHING I had to say and my first visit with him was well over two hours. He of course, did the requisite tests, but it was his ability to pull the necessary information out from all the things he is told that makes him a very good and quite special doctor. I have been seeing him for almost 15 years and I fear the day he decides to retire. I may have to find his home address! He takes ALL the time necessary to treat a patient and makes you feel like you are his only patient while he's with you. I have and will continue to recommend this doctor for as long as he practices!

Dr Sikes has no bedside manners. He’s rude. Unlike his staff that are friendly. It took 2 weeks to return a call I had place to the office. His excuse he was short handed. That’s not an excuse. When I first transferred to his practice he did not have anything good to say about my previous rheumatologist. He states I was misdiagnosed and then he wants to diagnose me with something different just so he can take the credit of misdiagnosing someone. I requested a dr change in his practice as I just didn’t like his bed side manners and just he can feel like a man he would not allow me to see another rheumatologist in the same pratice(money hungry) he dismissed me from the practice. So because he got his feelings hurt out I go. Even though the letter states that he will continue ur to see me for 30 days he told me to get our there’s the exit door and would not give me the meds I needed. I have filed a complaint with my insurance company and will file one to the board of doctors. Please do… not see this doctor.

Dr Sikes is a wonderful doctor. His office is well organized. He has greatly reduced my pain level. Dr. Sikes recommended that I get a dog to help me in my journey. It is working and I love my Bella. He is caring, compassionate and an excellent physician. His staff works efficiently and is kind. He helped me discover my uterine cancer and referred me quickly.

I put off seeing a rheumatologist for many years. After years of aches and pains I bit the bullet and made an appointment with Dr. Sikes on the recommendation of a friend. I admired his frankness and his caring demeanor. I have since learned that I suffer from not one, but four autoimmune diseases. Thanks to Dr. Sikes and his wonderful, caring staff, I am on the right track to prayerfully feeling better. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a rheumatologist.

I could not disagree more with a few of the negative comments I have read. For nearly 10 years a multitude of specialists have been unable to diagnose my condition. Dr Sikes was able to do so, in two visits. I understand that sometimes it's difficult to accept your diagnosis, as it was very difficult for me. However, as they say, don't shoot the messenger. It is his job to give you the facts, not tell you what you want to hear or prescribe medication that will not help you. Your diagnosis does not change just because you don't like the one you were given. .

This doctor treated me for 4 years and did everything he could to get my RA under control and help me maintain my disease. He worked with me being I didn't have insurance. He is an angel sent from above.

An hour late, he tells me that diseases my father had couldnt have been, despite 40 years of records. He was dismissive and is condescending. Very unhappy.

In the late 90's when I was a teenage girl my father and I both had an appt with Dr. Sikes. He comes in the room touches my arm in two places and tells me my pain is all in my head...right after me he did the exact same thing to my father...I have suffered pain for years and was trying to rule out fibromyalgia I still suffer wide spread pain but since he made me feel nuts I still havent ask any other dr about fm and now that I am in my 30's my pain is worse... but I will never suggest anybody go to sikes and he should not be a Doctor...happy for those of you that had a great experience but I definitely relate to the ones who did not...

As a snowbird in Fl. I appreciate his thoroughness and professionalism. I almost want to move here he is far and away better than my Dr. back home
