Dr. David A Silverman, MD

Easily the best Dr. I've seen in NYC since I moved 10 years ago. This is what premium health care is all about.

I was a patient of Dr. Silverman's for more than a decade, during which time I presented with increasingly complex, systemic inflammatory symptoms along with depression and brain fog. I even had Bells Palsy, and multi-joint arthritis. As someone with his own house in East Hampton, and as a so-called infectious disease specialist, Dr. Silverman should have known all the hallmark symptoms of Lyme Disease and its co-infections, Bartonella and Babesia. Instead, he laughed in my face when I told him I wanted to try a round of Doxy. Even after a letter from the CDC informed me that I had Lyme, he told me the tests are bogus and that I didn't have it. After a single round of Doxy under a different doctor's care, the pain that plagued me throughout my costly tenure as Dr. Silverman's patient, subsided and is now gone completely. Under his care, I also had high Mercury counts year after year, another sign of Lyme. Instead of treating me for Lyme, he told me to stop eating sushi and… swordfish. When I then gave birth to a neurologically impaired child who also had high mercury counts, Dr. Silverman scoffed at the connection or his role in my health debacle. I will never have a"normal" child and ended up almost dying from Lyme Disease. Dr. Silverman belongs in jail, not on Central Park West, taking people's money and misdiagnosing them year after year.

Dr Silverman sees my mother, and has for years: I would give anything for a doctor like him in Philadelphia. Smart-smart-smart, incredibly responsive (can always get him on the phone same day as calling--AMAZING for an internist, in my experience), funny, and actually very, very kind and empathic. Who wouldn't want all that in a doctor? Fees: yep, NYC. Busy: yep, good doctors often are. The best!

Dr. Silverman twice saved my life. He diagnosed that I had pneumonia just by hearing me talk on the phone.

Very smart Doctor with great sense of humor. Sharp, observant, and aware. Very thorough. Also very expensive, but well worth it.

"Dr. Death" should be his nickname. Incompetent. A quack. Do not go if you care about your health. If you want to die, then go see him.

I was diagnosed by three other physicians incorrectly and wasn't getting better. Dr Silverman figured it out in one visit. Now you might say this is some anecdotal outlier, but it's not! Rarely have I seen him be challenged by even the most obscure conditions / illnesses / symptoms - and trust me, I should know...I travel all over the world and I've certainly tested his vast pool of knowledge a few times now. All that said, I think my favorite part of seeing him is how much he clearly cares. This guy must have a gazillion patients and I always get the most careful and thoughtful follow up. If I could see him as my dentist, therapist, primary care physician, orthopedist, etc. I would! Go see him. Pay whatever. It's worth it! Oh, and did I mention he's hysterical?

What an amazing physician! Smart, kind, compassionate. Been going to him for a couple of years now and I think he's saved my life 3+ times. Absurd to see people trolling a doctor on this website. Complaining about his fees and tardiness is like buying a Ferrari and then complaining about the price tag and how long the waiting list is...get over it - it comes with the territory. If the price and punctuality of premium health care bother you so much, get a Toyota (it's cheap and you can buy it off the lot). Also, I've had "concierge" doctors that aren't this attentive. His accessibility and patience are a great reassurance when being treated! Great guy. Great practice. Great experience. Great! Couldn't recommend with more enthusiasm.

Great Dr. Just wish he took Medicare, but he's worth the out-of-pocket expense.
