After graduating from the University of Utah, Dr. Smoot attended dental school and completed a three-year residency at California’s Loma Linda Medical Center., followed by a craniofacial and trauma fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. A one-year rotation in anesthesia included the full management of operating-room anesthesia at three major Southern California hospitals and was followed by postdoctoral studies at numerous major hospitals throughout the United States.
Dr. Smoot has served on the board of directors of the March of Dimes and is currently chairman of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Salt Lake City’s LDS Hospital.
The Smoot Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has offices in Murray and South Jordan, Utah.
