if I could rate him zero stars i would. I was once a patient of his. My mother truly had no other options. Dr.Starr admitted me into a physc ward and FORGOT he did. When we had an appointment after he was calling me by the wrong name & started sharing another clients information with me (which is completely violation of hippa ) Dr Star is THE WORST and someone needs to take his license before he hurts someone.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Dr. Starr is VERY unprofessional. He berates, you, puts you down and ignores whatever you have to say. I suffer from SEVERE anger control issues and the way he treats someone like me, IS NOT how to treat someone with those issues. Also, he doesn't know how to tell time. Two hours late is the norm for this guy. I cancelled him because I found a better psychiatrist and the day I called up to tell him this, he threatened to call the police on me. It was probably because I was cutting into his bottom line. Anyway, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I am going to report him to the medical board.

I started seeing Dr. Starr approximately 6 yrs ago. Since then my life have drastically changed for the better ( ask my wife) I agree he is straight to the point but that’s what I wanted. You may half to wait to see him but they do have a system so you don’t have to wait for 2-3 hrs as someone mentioned in these reviews. As any Dr he may not be for everyone but once you understand his methods he is superb. Although I’m fortunate not having to make payments for the costs of my appt, he seems to allow this. Just because he may be paid well for his services ( take a look at what you pay for your regular doctor) doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t be asking for payment. He may come across if it’s all about the money, I truly believe he cares. The only concern I have is if he retires. I hate the thought of choosing another doctor. I recommend Dr Starr highly and worth giving him a shot. You can always try another doctor if your not happy. Dave M

Dr Starr should not be in the business of trying to help people. He might know his meds, but he’s horrible in his dealings with people with mental health issues. He has no patience whatsoever, but his patients are forced to wait to see him as if he’s pope. He misinterprets what patients say to him, and in doing so, reads them as I’ll-intentioned. He carries on about co-pays and (the 1) missed appts but when you tell him that you paid for the payment he relaxes about it. He gives false hope. He makes patients feels worse rather than better.

Avoid this place at all cost! Dr. Starr is was extremely unprofessional from the very first visit. You wait for 2-3 hours in the waiting room on a regular basis to see him. When you do see him his office is a disaster and he spends the majority of the time with you just shuffling through papers. When we mentioned a specific disorder that our son had been diagnosed with he was not even aware that this disorder existed. Next he will do little to confirm the diagnosis. He is only concerned with prescribing drugs, many different ones. He had no interest in attempting to work with our son on the disorders, only more drugs. Every follow up visit resulted in more waiting, shuffling papers and upping the doses of drugs that were not working. He does not want to listen to our son nor us for that matter, he just babbles and repeats himself over and over at each visit. The final straw for us was when our son went for a visit without us and Dr. Starr basically bullied and berated our son… for the whole time he was there. Our son was devastated when he returned home. He went to this "so called" professional for help and came home a mess. I would give this guy ZERO stars if I could. AVOID! Find another more professional doctor.
