Dr. David Lloyd Strauss, MD

Dr. Strauss met me recently at my worst- alone in the ER waiting for almost 2 hrs in extreme pain. He made me laugh, he validated my fears and frustrations, he made my pain management his priority and rallied the nurses and techs to make it their priority too. He checked on me before leaving his shift that night, and called me at home the next day to check on me after surgery. I felt genuine care and compassion from him, and I will always be grateful for how he positively impacted my otherwise awful hospital experience. Thank you Dr. Strauss! - Brie Simone

Without a doubt , one of the best Dr's that I have had attend me. Very straight forward and direct. Knowlledgeable and experienced with his diagnosis , and looks at all possible scenarios . Friendly and very sociable . I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

This doctor should not be seeing patients. My children brought me to. The emergency room because I was having trouble walking and kept falling. He said they no longer treat back pain with pills. He suggested lifestyle changes and kept saying "motion is lotion." My back didn't hurt. I told him my legs felt like they were in a vice and someone kept tightening it. He ran bloodworm for alcohol. Why? He should have done a x-ray. This was gross negligence. I am still considering legal action. I left there in pain which was indescribable. He caused a delay in treatment and I will probably never run or dance again according to my surgeon. But, I am grateful I am no longer using a wheelchair.

I was seen by Dr. Strauss in February, 2015. At that time, I had extreme difficulty walking. I had to lean up against a wall and even then I kept falling down. My body was battered and bruised. My top blood pressure number was 228. The pain I felt just took my breath away. It was indescribable. I could not complete a sentence. He told me to see a physical therapist and a psychiatrist. He never bothered to do a x-ray or neurological test. If he had, he would have seen the problem. He ignored my symptoms and I left in tears. I went to another doctor a few days later. I had major surgery and spent time in a physical rehabilitation center learning how to walk again. He should not be allowed to guess in an emergency room. roomIf he doesn't know what is wrong he should not be guessing. He could have just called another doctor in. I guess he does not like sixty year old females.

Unfortunately over the past few years I have had a few trips to the emergency room. I had diarrhea for 3 days, a 102.8 fever and this doctor shrugged it off as Irritable Bowel Syndrome which my GI doctor had told me previously I do not have. You can't tell Dr. Strauss anything; he is a know-it-all JERK for lack of a more inappropriate term. He made me feel like I did not belong in the Emergency Room and had the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced by a doctor in my 28 years. This doctor should not be allowed to practice emergency medicine. He has no compassion. The entire time he just lectured me about the importance of follow-up care, which I do on a ROUTINE basis! If he wants to lecture, he should have become a professor, not an ER doctor. He didn't care about the agonizing stomach cramping I had at all. It took the nurse to see me crying hysterically to get any type of pain relief. This doctor needs a serious reality check. You do not know it all! If I ever need to return to… GBMC's ER, I will make sure NOT to see Dr. Strauss.

I think it should be known that dr Strauss is to busy in his own mind to be a emergency room doctor. He tried to push me out of the er so quick that he thought my claims were invalid. He is the all time worst doctor in the Baltimore area. He gave me no help I had to request a follow up visit with gbmc primary care and then he wrote derogatory remarks in my medical charts like I was seeking pain pills when the original er doc told me to go back to the er and tell him what was prescribed. My advise to anyone who unfortunately gets him as a er doc request someone different he is a fraud

This Doctor was so very caring and so wonderful and worked so hard to treat my son. He had a wonderful bedside manner and just really cared about treatment and getting my son healed. I can tell, working in the medical field myself that he is there to help people and not just for a job..EXCELLENT!!!!!!
