Dr. David Strobel, MD

Based on a recommendation, I made an appointment to see Jayme for a procedure. Completing necessary paperwork and sitting was fairly brief and I came too early. Friendly Maurice came to take me to a room where we chatted for a time. Jayme soon entered and discussed my situation using tact and expertise. Please feel to use this office in spite of negative reviews on another site.

Have been making visits, with my Mom, and now my husband and myself. He is a wonderful doctor, hope he doesn’t plan on retiring early.....good doctors that you feel you can trust are hard to find....

WARNING: DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. The worst experience I’ve ever been through I experienced excruciating pain and racism. Went in for two simple procedures to get moles removed. Both grew back within a couple weeks. One get severely infected and had to get plastic surgery and a skin graft to be fixed. When I went to the follow up appt and showed them my botched infected area where the mole was, the physicians assistant Jayme said it was not infected and refused to give me medicine so I had to go to my primary care doctor to get antibiotics. My primary care doctor was appalled that they denied me medicine because it showed all the signs of an infection. The area was swollen, red, and white puss and yellow fluid was coming out of my wound. On my third visit after my mole removals I finally saw doctor Strobel by request and he said that I had a rare case of my body rejecting the dissolvable stitches. Then when I asked why it was already growing back his professional response was that… Jayme “may not have experience with people of color like you and that she didn’t realize how much skin pigment she needed to remove to remove the mole” I would have thought in such a diverse area in Maryland, I would be able to trust the doctors no matter my skin color. I’ve never had any experience like this before and have been told that a doctor botched my body because of my skin color. Do not give these doctors business.

Dr Strobel is a great dermatologist. However his employees are unprofessional. Once you walk out of their office, you may hear them talking about you like I did. My first experience there, the receptionist told me I couldn't be seen because she "thought" i needed a referral by my primary. After 2 days taken off work and 3 appts later, she told me that I don't need a referral and she didn't know that. Make sure you are educated about exactly what you need before making an appointment. Also you have to call to confirm your appt yourself because they wrote down that they call you when really, they don't.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Strobel's practice 2 out of 5 stars. To begin on a positive note, Jamie Williams, the physician assistant who I saw, was knowledgable and very courteous. She seems to be the only asset to this practice. I was made to wait almost a half an hour to be seen, and an additional 15 minutes once I went back to the exam room, even though I was right on time to my appointment. Since I had nothing better to do while waiting, I was forced to observe the extreme unprofessionalism of the front desk staff. They spoke freely about their personal lives, most of which was inappropriate discussion. In addition, they spoke about other patients and laughed about them. One of them even mocked a woman who had just called after they had hung up the phone. In addition to that, as I was checking out, I was treated with impatience and very rudely. As a healthcare professional myself, I was shocked and extremely offput by their behavior. I will not be back.

He does not treat his staff very well, all rules are broken ... No breaks and works them through lunch.

I have been going to Dr Strobel for years. My biggest issue is how long it takes to get an appointment. I think he is a great doctor. He will see my mom with her melanoma in a drop of a hat. My teenaged son with huge, purple sebaceous cysts that appeared in 48 hours on his face, however, was given a date 5 weeks from our call. That was not so great.

I wish I could give a review of negative stars. The worst dermatoligist office i've ever been to. I had an appointment at 3:10 I was in the waiting lobby until 4:06. There were several people that came in after me that were seen before me. When I made the appointment I was told I would have a consultant with Jamie, however when I finally got seen the whole time I was talking to her assistant I asked if Jamie would be in to see me and she said because it was a consulrant Jamie booked two other people during my time. The assistant prescribed me with cream but what i came in for was for surgery to get rid of my scars and the assistant said she couldn't tell me what I need only a doctor could and I said well duh that's the whole reason I waited a month for an appointment and had to wait a hour in a waiting room for was to see a actual doctor to see what I need done. It was a huge waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
