David M. Swisher, DDS, PC
 Dr. Swisher was born and raised in Staunton, Virginia. He wanted to be a
dentist from a young age and was influenced by his uncle and cousin, both of whom were dentists.
He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1972.
Dr. Swisher then served two years as a Captain in the U.S Army Dental Corps and was stationed at Ft. Ord, California.
Dr. Swisher came to Fredericksburg in 1974 and opened his general dentistry practice.
 Dr. Swisher was recognized in the August, 2010 issue of "Virginia Living" magazine as one of the top dentists in Virginia. He was chosen for this honor by his peers. One of the questions his peers had to answer was simple: If you had a patient in need of a dentist, which dentist would you refer them to?

He volunteers his time at the Moss Free Clinic and is a member of the Fredericksburg Rotary Club, Virginia Reel and St. George's Episcopal Church.
In his spare time, Dr. Swisher enjoys spending time in the Northern Neck, kayaking and sailing, especially the Nutshell Pram sailboat he built with a group of friends, who refer to themselves as the Little Falls Yacht Club. He also enjoys gardening, taking cooking classes at Whittingham's and spending time with his family, especially his two young granddaughters.
