Dr David Murray Systrom JR., MD

Flew to Boston to see this super duper specialist I was supposed to see. There was a note to not bill for procedures in my file per insurance issues and they were performed anyways (in office step test). Failed to put orders in for things he recommended I have done. His office staff has poor communication Notes on my visit are wrong and did not accurately reflect what I said or asked about in office. Speaking of which, info provided was vague and not particularly helpful. Nothing I didn't already know two years prior. Seemed uninterested and like he didn't want to be there frankly Recommended immediately starting on mestinon and drug cocktails without even knowing if I even had the condition to start with

An expensive and overall unhelpful experience with Dr. Systrom and his practice.

I agreed to do very invasive testing for research with the expectation via discussions of a treatment plan. I failed all the tests and then never heard from this office again. I contacted them several times to arrange the treatment plan or followup without success. His staff never got any of my treatment arranged. I feel like I was used as a lab rat for their research benefit and then discarded. Very disappointing and very discouraging. Do not promise treatment after invasive risky research testing if you aren’t going to follow through. If this is a staffing (PA) inefficiency issue it needs to be rectified. It’s not fair to patients.

Good luck if you don't neatly fit into a box that interests this doctor. The PAs are awful gatekeepers who restrict your access to care, and give erroneous and inaccurate advice. I know the doctor is brilliant, but I don't believe he cares too much.

I don’t know who is worse, Dr. Systrom or his PA Charlie, but they are both infuriating. They go out of their way to be as unhelpful and apathetic as possible. My life these last few months has been ruined thanks to this doctor. What’s more is that everyone in the mass dysautonomia support group hates this doctor. So this one star is on behalf of all dysautonomia patients.

The followup and communication with this office is very poor. You are given a treatment plan by the physician and then you never hear from the office again when it comes time to arrange or prescribe that. Emails and phone calls are not returned and never reach the doctor. I’ve never had such a disappointing experience with a specialist’s office. It is highly discouraging to agree to do highly invasive tests, show clear abnormality, be promised a treatment plan by the physician, and then be left with no followup or treatment.
