Dr. David Edward Tapke, MD

Dr. David Tapke received his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where he graduated with cum laude honors. After college, he developed an interest in public health after working as an AmeriCorps volunteer performing asthma education in the South Bronx of New York City. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. He stayed in Chicago for a pediatrics residency at Rush University Medical Center and is board certified in pediatrics. He then completed a combined adult and pediatric fellowship in allergy and immunology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH and is board certified in clinical allergy and immunology. Dr. Tapke is proud to represent the third generation of physicians in his family to practice at the Cincinnati Allergy & Asthma Center. Dr. Tapke specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and immunologic conditions including food allergy, drug allergy, environmental allergy (allergic rhinitis), atopic dermatitis/eczema, allergic contact dermatitis, sinus infections and recurrent infections (immunodeficiency). Cincinnati Allergy & Asthma Center offers a range of testing modalities including skin prick testing, intradermal skin testing, lung function testing (spirometry), patch testing, oral food challenges and drug challenges to ensure that your condition is properly diagnosed and treated.
