Dr. David L Vogel, MD

Dr. Vogel was abrupt at the initial meeting I had with him where he is a consulting specialist. In the two vein ablations I had at his Omaha office, he spoke the same six words, "There is going to a poke." I was an object not a person. His staff and ARPN who actually is the one who interacts with patients are the saving grace of his Omaha practice.

Had more problems with my leg since surgery. When I tried making a Follow Up appointment I was told there was nothing else he could do for me. He wanted his partner to see me. I would not recommend him. Especially if he can’t do any kind of follow up post surgery.

Dr. Vogel was one of the most caring Doctors I have ever experienced. He is knowledgeable, caring and a skilled surgeon. He took wonderful care of my Mother. I highly recommend him.

I had a vein surgery on February6th at the Vascular Center and was very pleased with Dr. Vogel. I was the 6th patient of the day and he didn't seemed hurried - He was very knowledgeable and patient with answering questions and also on the follow-up visit in West Point the week later. I would go to him again.

I wasn’t impressed with Dr. Vogel’s bedside manner. He can in the room and didn’t even introduce himself...just asked if I had any questions. I had no idea who he was. He made me and my family feel like idiots for asking questions.

Dr. came out to tell family how surgery went and said that had my father done his follow up visit that he (Dr. Vogel) would not have had to "waste his time" on the repair surgery. No life is a "waste of time." It may very well be that my father messed up by not going back to see him but Dr. Vogel's reprimand delivery method was demeaning. When we asked him to explain some of the medical terms he used that we did not understand he was very condescending.

What a jerk! Went in for a consultation and he started berating me for what another doctor had done to me. He was very disrespectful about my other doctor and said now he was going to have to "fix" what this doctor had done. My other doctor is world known for her expertise in the procedures she performs. Dr. Vogel is not. I left. I'm still angry!

Staff was really helpful and courteous, the doctor himself seemed very knowledgable and sure in his abilities. The only thing I did not like about him was how fast he went over my upcoming surgery, how little information he had to give me on it and how rushed it was. He informed me that they were extremely busy that day, and normally I'm fine with that but this is surgery, you are going to cut me open, what's going to happen before, during and after? At the time of surgery he was great, surgery went well, just stressful coming up to it.
