Summary
One of Dr. David Walther's most memorable moments as a dentist came when a patient cried tears of joy  after receiving a new set of teeth. Providing comprehensive dental care to special needs patients of all ages and patients with challenging dental health problems is one of the most rewarding aspects of his practice. "I get great satisfaction out of helping patients no one else wants to treat," he says.
Because of his affiliation with Meriter Hospital, where he teaches, Dr. Walther is able to treat difficult cases under general anesthesia and intravenous sedation anesthesia. Active in the Academy Dental Society of Anesthesiology and American Dental Association, Dr. Walther also volunteers with Donated Dental Services and Give a Kid a Smile, programs that provide free dental care to children and adults. He also promotes community dental health education through the volunteer programs of the Dane County Dental Society.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Walther plays clarinet at his …church, where he also sings in the choir. He is also a member of "Doc Rock and the Artifical Hipsters," DHA's office rock band. Married for 34 years, Dr. Walther and his wife Edyie have four grown children.
