If you are looking for a professional competent and caring provider for mental health care,stay far away from this individual.Most especially when you are going through a difficult time regarding your mental health.Words cannot describe his incompetence.It amazes me how someone like this is able to be in practice,and for so many years.I could go on and on but do yourself a favor and do your research when choosing a provider.Wish I did before choosing him.Only out for your money.$180 cash for a 45 minute appointment.Hope there is such a thing as Karma.Guy’s a real “schmuck”.

A-hole! Big chip on his shoulder. Misdiagnosed me and gave me the wrong medications for 3 years! His card states he does psychotherapy but that is far from the truth. He never once mentioned therapy. Doesn't return calls. Don't waste your time!

Do not walk away from meeting with this doctor. Run, run as fast as you can. Better yet, never make an appointment in the first place. But do not take my word for it, everybody's different. You can go and see him and see if it works for you but if it does not work for you then definitely try another doctor. A lot of this process is finding the right doctor for you and your condition.

Dangerous doctor Dangerous doctor, incompetent doctor. My son Dangerous doctor! After several visits I did not feel he was helping my adult son. I suggested he see another doctor but my son did not want to change. He seldom spoke to me at all. Shortly before my son's death he told me my son was "much better." A short time later I found my son in his condo dead in his bed. The coroner at said he did not have alcohol in his body. There will be more patient deaths as a result of this doctor.

Very good doctor and not a schemer like many psychiatrists

My brother has been suffering from Schizo-effective Disorder for over 20 years and had overcome many challenges to be able to eventually manage his symptoms very well. His psychiatrist was retiring so he was looking for a new psychiatrist. He found Dr. Walzer who, on the very first visit, before he even knew my brother’s name, reduced his medication by 30%. This led to a relapse for my brother, who now has to struggle to regain control of his disease. He has had to take a leave of absence from his full-time job to try to prevent another spiral into the depths of this illness. Complete negligence, carelessness, unprofessionalism, and potential malpractice on the part of Dr. Walzer - do not see this man.

He called me and pushed me to pick an appointment date, knowing my insurance doesn’t cover in his practice, claims I confirmed an appointment over the phone (100% lie- told him I’d get back to him because of work and insurance $$$) and where’s the proof of scheduled appointment? It’s hearsay. Red flag. Beware. No confirmation emails, cards, texts etc. then, contacts me to inform me I missed my appointment (no reminder for supposed upcoming appointment) and is saying he’s charging me for it! He knows my financial situation and my desperateness for help. He needs a secretary because I noticed a pattern of him mixing up peoples appointments. The first time I showed up, he was expecting someone else. He told me so. He is disorganized as you will see in his messy office- couldn’t find my file. I am upset and have no interest in going back, considering his pushiness, greed, and lack of compassion. Also gave me a hard time in regards to prior authorization for my needed medication. Gave me… all the work. Isn’t it his job?

Saw doctor Walzer through the Bryn Mawr hospital. I was admitted because I wasn't sleeping and was in a state of distress due to a new job and life. I had been admitted to a mental hospital twice before when I changed jobs. I have problems with change. I'm mentally ill. I think he uses the hospital to get new patients. Prey on the sick. He never did any diagnostic tests. My friend sent her son to him. Threw him in the same category and then changed it to schizophrenia. I would see him late in the day for therapy. He would start to fall asleep sometimes. It was late in the day. If you can't stay awake take a nap or something. In three years of talk he only made one comment, really. I was teaching at a community college. He told me not to date any of the girls. That's it. Never found out what happened to my freind's son. As a side comment he had a problem with his electricity going out and was too cheap to get an automatic back-up generator. I know because he used… to deal with the problem in session. He's not a good doctor. If you have a serious problem. I suggest you see someone else. I stopped going. If you have a concern for helping someone commit to helping them continue therapy. He never called. He doesn't have a secretary. Good luck!

I went through a number of psychiatrists before stumbling upon Dr. Walzer. His diagnostic ability and knowledge of of medications is excellent and he is very caring.

He gave me ketamine a few years back and I became suicidal. He refused to return my calls at night. He doesn't like getting involved in this type of scenario. A year later I called to make an appt and he gave me a lame excuse like "You're far away and suicidal". I wasn't suicidal then. Why didn't he treat me when I was suicidal? He's the one who prescribed the ketamine!
