Dr. David Stephan Wargowski, MD

I have seen Dr. Wargowski twice for two different rare genetic disorders, and have multiple family members who've been diagnosed by him. We all have a lot of issues, and I find him to be careful, caring, compassionate and honest. He is great about helping to connect to services and genuinely cares about gaps in services that exist for rare disorders which is really important for a geneticist. He also really seems to understand the lifetime struggles and changes that occur with genetic disorders, so while some people I know with the same disorder have had difficulty procuring diagnoses, he is a lot more helpful than some others. He also is open to discussing the cost and benefits of experimental treatments, which many of us need for help and hope -- I've heard reports that some geneticists will not even consider these and do not care, but the truth is that all things are experimental for many of us with newly discovered or rarer disorders, and for us that can be a real struggle.… The fact that he keeps this in mind and will help us, but not in a reckless way, is really great.
