Dr. David Edward Welton, MD

Was referred to this Doctor for some tests. The nurses and staff were all very friendly, and put me at ease, but the Doctor was quite hostile. He barely listened to my symptoms, and didn't read my chart. When he asked me if I smoked and drank, he did so very quickly and asked each question repeatedly...as if trying to trip me up if I were lying. It immediately made me feel off kilter, and I had a hard time trusting him because I felt attacked. Competent Doctor, but doesn't seem to care about his patients as people.

From the moment I walked in, Dr. Welton treated me as if I were an idiot for being in his office. Even though I was referred by another physician, he spent his time telling me about how little the other physician knew and how 'obvious' my problem was. He was completely insensitive and ordered an unnecessary EKG (I had brought my EKG print out with me from the previous doctor) because the other doctor "probably did it wrong" which ended up costing me several hundred dollars. I questioned the extra EKG, but I was in one of those revealing hospital 'gowns' at the time and didn't feel comfortable enough to fight back. He was belittling and rude and my whole experience was not only terrible, it was expensive.

During the exam he DOES NOT talk with you. In fact, he hardly says a word. He treats you like your questions are not important. In fact, when I asked him a question about intimacy with my heart problem, he just ignored me. After the first time I thought he was just having a bad day. After the second time I was annoyed. After the third time I just had it and thought I don't have to put up with this crappy bedside manner and changed doctors.
