Dr. Wendt received a bachelor in science degree and a graduate degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He served his internship in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he also completed his residency and served as Chief Medical Resident. After completing his residency, he received a public health service research award to investigate the role of the autonomic nervous system on the conduction of the cardiac impulse.

Dr. Wendt completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Iowa. He completed a fellowship in electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Wendt served on the faculty at Duke University continuing his basic research, supervising in VA cardiac services, and perfecting skills in the emerging field of interventional cardiac electrophysiology. He has authored or co-authored nearly 30 papers on various areas of cardiology and electrophysiology.

Dr. Wendt has been my husbands cardiologist for 18 years. He has given us personal, professional excellent care. We could never ask for better.

I really like dr. Wendt I never had such caring care from a doctor. He explains everything in great detail in a way so you understand. He talk to you and he very rush your appt. time with him.

Soft-spoken, well-read and with an exceptional vocabulary and ability to communicate, Dr. Wendt is who you want to see if your heart is misbehaving. He treats patients like human beings who have a problem, not like a prognosis with a body attached. I trust him. I recommend him as a fine person who is genuinely interested in his patients and takes time to know us. I hope he practices medicine for many more decades.

This doctor was very persistent in the diagnosis of my health issue. Due to issues of a stomach problem, different medications have been experienced but (thankfully) he continued to try to find a solution my health problem. Thank you for letting me remain a patient.

he spent a lot of time with me he is collecting information labs and echocardogram disk to view how bad my mitral vaule leak is he is checking my blood work to find out why my bp is droping and is concerned of my ef level he is going to try to find out what is wrong and fix things before they get worst, he also is montering my I.C.D. I realy liked him because he seems to care about his patients, I return in 6 weeks to see what he has figured out and where we go from here.

I have had a few doctors but I have never had one that I truly trust with my healthcare. He listens and make sure I understand everything that he is doing and going to do. I really can not express how thankful I am for his care.
