Summary
Dr. Westland has been part of the Tri-Cities community since the early 1950’s. He went to Eastgate Elementary, Park Junior High and graduated from Kennewich High School in 1968. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with honors, earning a biology degree in 1972. He then graduated from the University of Washington Dental School in 1976. Dr. Westland joined the U.S. Public Health Service and completed a year’s residency in general practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia. After his residency, he worked for the Indian Health Services in Pawhuska, Oklahoma for a year before opening his Kennewick family practice in 1978. Dr. Westland has maintained and improved the dental health of Tri-Cities by keeping his focus on friendly, comfortable dentistry.
Over the years, Dr. Westland has continued to improve his skills in dentistry through continuing education classed and studies. He takes pride in continuing his skills that make it possible for him to provide the majority …of dental needs and service for his patients. The confidence, experience and friendliness of Dr. Westland and his staff enable them to provide gentle dentistry, utilizing state of the art techniques and equipment in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
Dr. Westland is a member of the American Dental Society, Washington State and Benton-Franklin Dental Society. He has been active for many years with the Smile Mobile program, children’s dental health month and other programs associated with those to provide free dentistry each year for children in need of dental services who may otherwise go without.
Dr. Westland has traveled to Nepal twice to provide dental care for the children who live in orphanages in Katmandu. These are all very rewarding experiences for him.
Dr. Westland is dedicated to providing his patients with the highest quality of preventative and restorative dental care. He and his team are committed to strengthening relationships with every patient. They try to treat their patients as they would like to be treated.
On a personal note, Dr. Westland enjoys traveling, gardening, collecting rocks and minerals and making pottery. He has been a long-time member of the Lakeside Gem and Mineral Club, and the Tri-Cities local Rose Society. He has been married to his wife, Diane since 1974. They have two grown children, Linn and Mark, who reside in Tacoma, WA.,
