Dr. David A. Williams, MD

Dr. David Williams is a senior hematologist and oncologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and President Emeritus of Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, as well as the Leland Fikes Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Internationally recognized for his leadership in pediatric hematology-oncology and stem cell biology, he specializes in blood disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, gene therapy, and pediatric cancer research. Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Throughout his distinguished career, he has led groundbreaking research in gene and cell therapies for inherited blood diseases and immunologic disorders, contributing significantly to advances in stem cell transplantation, gene editing, and translational medicine.
