Dr. Dawn Mae Hansen, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Hansen for many years before she moved over to the Armed Forces Retirement Center. I really miss her 'Direct' manner of addressing issues. Other reviewers are sort of right...Dr. Hansen is brutally honest. She will tell you the truth, right to your face...whether you choose to get all offended and weepy is your business. Myself, I liked it. I am tired of doctors who can't or won't tell you when you are being an idiot with your lifestyle; doctors who sit at their keyboard and never look you in the eye; doctors who pass out drugs, just based on what YOU want or what the Internet told you. That ain't her. You want the uncolored truth, even if it isn't what you want to hear? You get it. You want sugar-coated pats on the back? Go somewhere else.

Just like the last three reviews, Dr. Hansen is rude! I saw this doctor for a number of years and then she changed. She's not the same doctor she use to be. If a doctor becomes non-caring and doubting my symptoms and problems, they do Not deserve a penny from my pocket book. She definitely should be required to Retire!

DR HANSEN TOLD ME TO NEVER COME BACK TO HER OFFICE AGAIN WHEN I TOLD HER I NEEDED AN AIC TEST DONE SHE SAID THAT DOING A BLOOD TEST OR USEING A METER DOSEN'T TELL IF YOUR A DEBICIT OR NOT SHE YELLED AT ME WHEN I TOLD HER I DO EAT RIGHT SHE SAID I WAS WASTING HER TIME

This is the rudest doctor I have ever been to. I would not ever refer anyone to her. I personally think she is only in the profession for the money because she does not care about her patients. It is obvious in the way that she talks down to them.

I went to see Dr Hansen to try to establish a new Doctor. She came in and started doubting me instantly when I explained my previous diagnosesis (which could have been proven had she gotten the records). Then when I explained that I had filed for Social Security disability, she told me that what I have is NOT a disabling disease. (My lawyer and their whole firm seem to think so) I told her I wasn't able to work and she asked what I did. I told her I am taking college classes online - and she said "well, if you're "disabled" aren't you just wasting your time with that degree?" I was horrified. I could barely manage to sit through the rest of the appointment. I never went back to see her! RIDICULOUS! Don't know how this woman even has a license to practice medicine!

Dr. Hansen is a GREAT MD. She doesn't order testing that is not needed, and tries to help keep the cost of healthcare down.Alot of times, when you see a negative review, it's not the whole story.Please, when you comment on a doctor, please give the whole story.

Dr. Hansen has changed my life! She found things that other doctors missed and put me on the right track for treatment. I Trust her so much that although I just recently moved six hours away I will make the drive because she is that good. Her staff are very friendly and helpful. She spends time with you, and I have never felt rushed. She is a rarity in the world of medicine and would recommend her very highly!

I went in with a very serious health problem and she laughed at me and said it was in my head. The very next morning went into a cardiologist where test had shown that I had a heart attack. I will be filling a suit against this doctor whom should never had received a license through AMA. I also am in the medical profession.
