Dr. Dawn Kiyomi Kuriyama, MD

I was referred to Dr. Kuriyama by a friend. I've had two appointments with her and would highly recommend her to others. She and her nurse Ellen were prompt yet efficient and made me feel comfortable as a new patient.

Ask questions, gets to the point and not afraid to refer to a specialist if needed. Healthy is good.

No nonsense care.

Dr. Kuriyama is very caring and asks the right questions. If something is outside her wheelhouse she’ll refer you to the right network of specialists. Great experience for about 5 years now as my PCP. -MT

After reading the reviews, I do agree that she does type on her computer but I felt she was attentive to how I was feeling and has been great everytime.

We have been taking my elderly father to Dr Kuriyama; since his primary care physician Dr Scott Himeda retired. He was warm, kind, compassionate, respectful, honest, & very professional. We really knew he cared & helped my father so much. But, after he retired, Dr Kuriyama took over & we thought even though she was younger; this might be a positive change. But, we were taken aback; when upon meeting her for my father's first appointment & because he had so many health issues that needed addressing & testing - she immediately recommended he take a flu shot at & when we said we didn't agree that this was a good idea; if she hadn't ordered a blood test to determine what was wrong. Because our father, is respectful of all professional people; he didn't want to argue & consented; but we were horrified that she went ahead & did it anyway! She also kicked our father once ; when she came into the room, & said, " Hey, wake up!; as my father fell asleep waiting for her!Only after we complained… to her assistant, that we couldn't believe how often we were coming to see her,& how many different specialists she recommended that we had made other appointments with; why was our father still not getting better or well ? Only after that complaint; did she seem to change her demeanor & "acted like she was trying to be nicer? But she did not seem genuine! We can't believe she is a doctor with such a horrible bedside manner, disrespectful to patients & caregivers, & no compassion or kindness for the sickly or elderly!Since then, it took alot of research & time, but we have found other specialists to help our father

I saw her for several reasons. No referral no explanation why i needed blood test. Said she would call the following day but didnt.

I was looking for a new primary care provider and should have read all of these reviews first. She has a terrible bedside manner and does in fact spend more time trying to type on her laptop rather than communicate with her patient and address her patient's concerns. I explained the primary reason for my visit and she did not address my concerns at all.
